Chateau d’Vine is a gorgeous farmhouse offering historic character, tasteful décor, and modern comfort. With multiple bedrooms, three seasonal cottages (available from Memorial Day until Halloween), and a dedicated rec room, it’s ideal for families, retreats, groups, and couples. Unwind in the hot tub, gather around the fire, or walk to the towns of Saugatuck/Douglas. Minutes from beaches, wineries, and trails.

NOTE: During winter, the three seasonal cottages are closed and max occupancy is 13.

The Space:

Built in the 1870s by William Graham Tisdale, Chateau d’Vine offers a unique stay filled with Victorian touches, wood trim, artistic accents, and thoughtful amenities.

On the main level of the main house, the spacious master bedroom has a king bed, a small table and chairs for two, a library area with loveseat sofa bed, and a spacious ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. This space is perfect for quiet moments away from the group and for those with limited mobility who need a little extra room. (please note, there are a couple steps up onto the home’s spacious front porch.)

The second main level bedroom features a Queen bed and ensuite with shower/tub combo and views of the harbor and marshland where wildlife make themselves at home. The living area has a TV and an electric fireplace, is open to the attached dining room, and is perfect for shared meals. Continue on to the fully equipped kitchen with coffee station, screened porch with outdoor dining table, and access to the spacious lawns where there is an additional patio dining table and chairs.

Upstairs, guests will find three additional bedrooms, including a bunk room with bonus trundle bed, a private Queen size bedroom, a full shared hall bath with shower and tub combo, and a large second master suite with a sitting room with sofa bed and chair, a two person table to enjoy quiet morning coffee with views, and an ensuite bath with walk-in shower, claw foot tub and towel warmer. This spacious suite offers ample space to enjoy privacy and quiet time when needed.

Three charmingly rustic cottages (available May-October) add even more flexibility, each with its own deck to enjoy the wetland views. Each cottage features an open bedroom space, kitchenette (with mini fridge, microwave and Keurig), private bath with walk in shower, and a sitting area. Two cottages also offer sofa sleepers. A dedicated recreation room is located in the converted detached garage and offers a TV area, poker and card tables, and more than 100 board games along with an assortment of DVDs.

Outdoors, relax in the hot tub overlooking expansive natural wetlands, enjoy lawn games, relax on the spacious front porch, fire up the grill for dinner, gather around the bonfire for s’mores, or shoot some hoops in the driveway.

So overall, I can say I would recommend this home to stay in. But there are definite upgrades that need to be made. It is an older home, so some things can’t be helped. However, the yard is in need of serious repair. We had a couple people tripping on holes and things in the dark as nothing is lit well. Also, if you like to cook, be aware the cookware is in need of serious improvement. There were pots and pans that no one should eat from. (Scratches on teflon, etc) But the rooms were nice sized, with the suites being very large with nice baths. And the cabins were perfect for privacy for our adult children.

Very nice place and enjoyed the the perfect location. The only complaint we have is the middle cabin was so damp the bedding was wet. We didn't need that cabin so it really didn't affect our stay. The host was very easy to work with and very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

Chateau de Vin was perfect for our group. We had two families with kids in the main house, two sets of grandparents and an aunt/uncle in the cabins. The whole place was spotlessly clean, very spacious and had everything we needed for a fun long weekend. We loved the gathering space in the backyard and the Adirondacks on the front porch. Super close to the Root Beer Barrel, Douglas Beach, the chain ferry and Mt. Balfour/Oval Beach. The host allowed us to bring two extra dogs for a fee so we didn’t have to leave anyone behind. Highly recommend this stay for a big group!

My niece was married over the weekend and we wanted to stay in a place that housed most of the family. This place was above and beyond perfect. Everyone had a place to sleep. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen stocked with anything you needed and the grounds were perfect for hanging out during the day and night. Saugatuck was a great place to go shopping and sit by the water. We could not have been happier with our stay.

The amenities were very nice. The rooms were much smaller than they appeared in the photos. We stayed in the upstairs queen bedroom. The mattress was awful, I moved to the bunk bed next door. A mirror in the bedroom would be nice, as would more counter space in the bathroom. For makeup curling iron etc. the linens and towels were luxe. Overall a lovely home

This property was perfect for our family. There were 8 adults and 6 kids ranging in age from 3-72. Lots of room to spread out. Kitchen was well equipped. Front porch was great for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The Ferry road closure was a little inconvenient but turned out fine because it reduced the traffic. Loved the short walk to the coffee shop!

The property was able to accommodate 9 adults and 5 kids with room to spare. The house is charming and cabins give added privacy. We couldn’t use game room due to a damp musty smell Since there was only 1 tv in the house we spent time visiting on the porch and playing in the yard. The location is convenient and many deer citings were exciting.

Our recent stay at the Chateau d’Vine left us with mixed feelings. While the main house was comfortable, we were disappointed to discover that the advertised rec room was unexpectedly unavailable throughout our entire stay. We chose this property for its 8 bedrooms and also with the understanding that the rec room, equipped with various games, would offer additional living space for our family. This wasn't communicated to us until the evening before arrival. Email communication up until the arrival date mentioned instructions for accessing the rec room. It significantly impacted our overall experience. The limited living space in the main house became quite challenging, especially with a larger group. We were counting on the rec room for additional entertainment options and a place for family members to gather. Our frustration primarily stems from the lack of communication and compensation regarding the rec room's unavailability. While we understand that unexpected issues can arise, clear and proactive communication is crucial to ensure a positive guest experience.
