Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our group (6 adults & 1 baby) spent a summer week “chez” Guillaume at his family’s ancient townhouse in Galargues. The house is spacious, has loads of character (it’s centuries old) and is very well located: some private parking, quiet square, walking distance from a bakery, some good restaurants and a bar. It has most mod cons (apart from air con) but could do with a bit more of tidying up (lots of personal items), but we were the first ever to rent, so I’m sure that will happen. Apart from that, it is lovely and the central court yard with terrace under a giant fig tree is magnificent. Galargues is right off the A9 and in close proximity of many cities and sites in Languedoc + the sea in Camargue. It has the perk of being very close to the river Vidourle, an emerald gem for swimming in fresh water and fishing trout. The river bank in Galargues is famous for its Roman ruins (Ambrussum). All in all: great house with loads of character, wonderful location and very friendly host! Would recommend!
