Stayed Aug 27, 2024Lovely renovated townhouse in the ancient village of Pigna. We stayed with 5 people and had plenty of space. The apartment was remarkably cool despite the hot weather (over 30 degrees Celsius every day). We also loved the two terrasses although they were in strong competition with the great bar that is 50m down the street. We also

Stayed Aug 25, 2019Spent 4 days here, the accomodation was charming and spacious and village beautiful. Bars, cafes and restaurants were fab. Highlight was the local rock pools. The beds could have been more comfy but we managed. Would def recommend and would stay here again as position both in village itself and surrounding areas is great.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The house is in the heart of Pigna's lovely windy streets, with fabulous views down over Pigna and the villages beyond. The house has two lovely terrraces, with plenty of garden furniture, shade, sunshine and lovely views. The family house is well-equipped. We enjoyed using the friendly local restaurants and corner shops, which serve tasty food and delicious ice cream. Communication with the owner was very helpful. We found travelling to the house by public transport very straight forward - there is a tram from Nice airport, which takes you (free of charge) just 2 stops to a shopping centre, and it is then just a 10 minutes walk to Nice St-Augustin train station. From there it takes just an hour to Ventimiglia, and then a 50 minute bus to Pigna. The buses run every day, but you do have to plan their use carefully , as they do not run very frequently. One of our favourite things to do was to walk to the natural rock pools near Pigna. The pictures on the owner's web site are lovely, but you really must experience this yourself to fully appreciate the charm of the location. The 15 minute walk to the river is delightful.

Stayed Sep 26, 20185 of us stayed here and enjoyed the local restaurants and bars of the village. We also had some lovely walks around the local area. We went back to the rock pools of Rochetta Nervina which were unchanged from 30 years ago when we swam in them before. As we only had 3 days here. we didn't manage to swim in the rock pools in Pigna. We will save that experience for our next trip. We would definitely stay at this house again. It was perfect.

Stayed Aug 20, 2018Our family of four had a lovely week’s stay in Pigna. Our initial walk from where we left the car to unload round to the villa was breathtaking. Parts of the medieval village reminded me of Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley, with tiny alleys leading off and wooden doors with lamps hanging over. The villa had everything we needed and the outside space was perfect for relaxing or eating in the sun. The village of Pigna is quiet and friendly and where you feel part of the community. The local coffee shop sells amazing coffee, patisserie and ice cream, from where you can watch many cyclists come and go. The ‘local’ waterfalls we walked to provided many hours of exploration and relaxation alike. We visited the local bar and played pool and spent lovely evenings in other restaurants nearby. The beach at Bordighera is a stony beach where you can hire sun loungers, but we were comfortable enough to lay on towels and mingle in with the many locals who came down late afternoon. The sea varied from calm and tranquil to vast, smashing waves - both as equally enjoyed although the life guards were diligent in keeping people safe. Visits to other villages to see Monet’s bridge, waterfalls and amazing views kept us all amused. Thanks to the comprehensive information we received prior to going and in the villa this helped us to make the most out of our week, although also leaves us feeling that we need to go back for more!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The villa is amazing with picturesque views of the mountains. It was equipped with everything required for a relaxing stay. The gardens and sun area are an added bonus : we loved sitting out on an evening under the lights reading and chatting. Ian and Sue have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable with a wide variety of books, DVDs and board games. Ian's information booklet helps you make the most of your stay with directions to rock pools, best places to eat nyoom other local information. We have fallen in love with the villa and Pigna nyoom cannot wait to return next year.

Stayed May 26, 2018Stayed here in May, it was quiet and warm. We had everything we needed. There is a good spot for swimming in the river nearby. The roads are nice for cycling. The local restaurants have excellent local food at reasonable prices. It's about 25 min to the beach.
