Charming Galax Retreat w/ Wraparound Deck!

The house was clean ,beds comfy and the views were beautiful . When I was looking to book a place ,I was looking for privacy( it was private) and a nice hot tub so we could just unwind and relax. I emailed the owner about a week before our stay and ask if the hot tub was operational and well maintained. She assured me it was and said it was only7 months old. When we arrived the hot tub was on 75* and was murky looking. I always take a testing kit before getting into a hot tub at a rental. The alkaline was off as the bacteria was a little outside of safe range. So I called and spoke with the owner . He said to turn hot tub up to 102 and it would take 1 * per hour and he also told me to put some chemical in that was in laundry room( which I did). The temp. Came up to 95 pretty quick but took that night into next day to get to 101. Then when we removed cover the temp went back down to 95 tp 97. Needless to say we didnt get to enjoy the hot tub at all. The hot tub is set up on a 110 outlet. And is probably fine in warmer weather but not when its cold out.We were disappointed we didnt get to use it at all. Then a 60 mph wind storm hit the 3rd night we were there and blow the cover off way down the hill. My husband went down and got it and put it back on the next day but the hottub had frozeup. Overall this is a pleasant ,clean ,private place to stay. Just don't base your stay on using the hot tub like I did.

The place was very spacious, would have been nice if we hadn’t been away (LowGap, NC) most of our time there in dress rehearsal and wedding Friday and Saturday. The weather was perfect for the wedding on Saturday but overnite the temperatures dropped drastically and the winds were gusty and it started snowing so we left early to get back home.

We loved every day of our stay. The location provided beautiful views from every room. We enjoyed roaming the shops in town, spent time looking at our property to plan next steps, and hiked at Grayson Highlands State Park. Definitely would stay at this beautiful location again.

This was a great vacation home to enjoy peace, scenery, hot tub relaxation and time together. We loved it!

Very nice, enjoyed our stay. When the shower is used in the hall bathroom there is a problem with the other bathroom toilet. Very little water pressure in hall bathroom.Overall it is a lovely place to stay.

Second time here. Loved it. Great views and lots of wildlife everywhere we went.Enjoyed seeing the lightening bugs at night. Like twinkling stars. Clean and comfortable. Don't mind the steep driveway. Just put your car in low gear and you'll do fine.

I tried three times to get into contact with our host before travel time. I even contacted support twice still wasn’t able to contact the host. So I clicked the get directions button on the vrbo app which to me to the middle of nowhere in THE MJDDLE OF THE WOODS. I HAD NO SERVICE WHERE THE GPS TOOK ME SO I HAD TO DRIVE IN CIRCLES FOR HOURS IN THE WOODS TRYING TO GET SERVICE. WHEN I FINALLY DID GET SERVKCE I WAS TOLD THE GET DIRECTIONS BUTTON IS USELESS AND NOT THE CORRECT ADDRESS. HAD OUR HOST RESPONDED ONE KF THE THREE TIMES I REACHED OUT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED. TO BE HONEST ID LIKE SOME TYPE OF REIMBURSEMENT

Perfect location for hiking & biking at New River Trail State Park. Our Evolve host was very responsive! The views were spectacular & the hot tub was an added benefit as well! The house has everything you need to have a relaxing vacation!

We loved staying at this cozy home in Galax. Communication was quick and consistent from the start. The house and property was immaculate. The home was just as described but even better in person. Amazing views from every part of the home. The wrap around porch was the perfect way to start our morning with coffee and a sunrise and end with a sunset. The hot tub was an added bonus! We can’t wait to stay here again.

The property was very close to the pics. We had a wonderful stay with perfect weather and the host thought of everything guests needed. The views were beautiful from the home up on a mountain and we plan to book again
