Newark, Delaware
Close to everything yet so far removed! Enjoy the beauty of nature without ever leaving the house! White Clay Creek State Park trail entrance (via Middle Run Valley) at the end of the street, University of Delaware a 5 minute drive, countless shopping attractions and restaurants close by!
There are security cameras located outside: front door, back door, garage floodlight and one located in the basement, enclosed utility room to monitor for equipment malfunctions. The indoor camera cannot “see or hear” anything outside of the utility room. We will do our best to return any forgotten items, however, we are not responsible for any items left behind at the property.
Staying at the Charming a cape was really nice for us this Christmas week. The fireplace was a delightful addition. This home was easy to live in and had plenty of room for our family. Very , very lovely.
We stayed for a long weekend for an event at the University of Delaware and it was perfect! This old charming house was immaculately clean and was stocked with everything we needed. It was only 5 minutes from campus and at the end of the street was entry to extensive hiking and biking trails. We got to enjoy a couple of miles of hikes and look forward to coming back and doing more. Woke up our first morning to a nice 4-point buck and a doe in the yard. We'll be back for sure!
The Charming Cape fit the bill. Very clean, well equipped and comfortable home was an ideal choice for spending time with family! We will be back!
I was in town for a quick getaway with my kids. The hone was perfect, and Lynne was so helpful. Right down to pictures to locate the nearby trails. She really thought of everything and it made the time with family so much easier.
Great space, extremely clean and organized, convenient location, and the owner was a delight! Lynn was very accommodating and showcased a really great setup. Our family would stay here again! Thanks Lynn for everything!
We stayed at the Charming Cape for a long weekend. The house was perfect and the backyard is large and beautiful and fenced in! Plenty of space and clean with everything you need. The host checked in to make sure all was good and was very communicative. Location was wonderful too. Very close to University of Delaware. We would definitely stay again when in the area.
My family (my husband, 5 year old and mother) and I stayed at the “Charming Cape” for the weekend because we were in Delaware for a family reunion. The house was clean, comfortable and definitely charming! There was a fenced in yard that was beautiful and relaxing. The neighborhood was quiet. The owner was very responsive and even sent us a message the first day to make sure we had everything that we needed. The owner went out of her way to make the house comfortable for people if they have very young kids-items available included a pack n play and high chair. The set up of the bedrooms was also great-there was a bedroom on the first floor with a bathroom right next to it. This was perfect for my mom who would’ve a harder time getting up the stairs. Would absolutely recommend this property and would definitely stay here again!
Very nice home, everything you need is there and then some. Owner was super informative and accessible. Plenty of space for everyone. Just a wonderful experience.
Charming cape was perfect for family to stay for a local reunion. Very clean and quiet with a great back yard for bird watching and relaxing. The neighborhood offers entry to walking trails in middle run natural area. Lynn was easy to communicate with and fixed an issue for us very quickly. We will definitely stay again when we come back.
The home was lovely and comfortable. Neighborhood was nice with easy access to everything. Loved the backyard view!
Clean, quiet stay, hiking trails nearby, and close to many amenities
This house was perfect! Loved everything about it. Lynn was so helpful and always available. We hope to stay here again next time we are in the area.
Clean, well stocked, great location with access to the park and amazing communication with the host.
We travel here regularly to see plays at our granddaughter’s nearby performing arts school, The Cab Calloway School. This will be our top choice for accommodations from now on! Lynn is a terrific host. She has very helpful information in a binder (e.g., local restaurant menus) and she’s eager to help in any way (e.g., finding pickleball locations for us). We were able to bring our dog, which was much appreciated. The fully fenced yard was a pleasant surprise and Grosvenor loved stretching his legs in the yard. The walking trail at the end of the road is gorgeous and we enjoyed a walk there. The rooms are generously sized so the three of us had ample space. It was a delight to stay here!
We travelled from MA to DE to watch our grandsons participate in a swim meet at the University and thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Charming Cape. The property lived up to its name:) The living and sleeping spaces were roomy for the six of us. We were able to prepare meals for all during our stay. Lynn provided extras touches: a snack basket (enjoyed by my grandsons), a couple of juice pouches and bottles of water, as well as condiments. Directions for check-in, operation of the dishwasher and washing machine, and check-out were clear and appreciated. Before checking out we took a walk on the trail system at the end of the street and wished we had more time to explore it further. This property is a wonderful alternative to staying at a hotel.
