Great location within easy distance to restaurants, shops and the beach. The house was well kept, nicely designed and clean. Cary was a considerate host, checking in with us about our arrival time and available to assist. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with items you might need. Really appreciated the quality of toiletries.

Excellent location in a residential setting for accessing the beauty and commercial resources of Dana Point. Very quiet for sleep and home time. Host easy to reach and attentive. Beds comfortable and upstairs shower nicely updated. Kitchen well-stocked. A lesser drawback feom our perspective was that the House needs a thorough cleaning,including floors, window spiders, carpet shampoo needed, rugs in bathroom (washed ourselves), some dirty pans in cupboard. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would be pleased to have the opportunity to rent the location again.

Cary was an excellent communicator and responded very quickly to all questions.

The Castle by the Sea in Dana Point was a perfect choice for our family group of 5 while attending a wedding in San Juan Capistrano. The neighborhood is super charming, each house makes full use of their steep lots and the result is a series of decks ascending up the hill behind the houses. We had a lot of fun trying them all out. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a nicely kitted out kitchen. The decor I would describe as favorite great uncle's house with big dark comfy furniture, antique lithographs of steamships on the Mississippi River, some old family photos nicely framed, and a cupboard fully of history books. Cary was an excellent host. We encountered one issue during our stay when the speaker system started playing country music although none of us was connected. He was by in under 5 minutes to turn it off. Thanks for sharing your house, we enjoyed it immensely.

Awesome kitchen, fully stocked. Would not recommend for small children unless you bring gates for the many areas with stairs, but other than that, the home was tremendous! The owner, Cary, went way out of his way to deliver a bag we had left behind with my husband's medicine and hearing-aid charger. Items he desperately needed. Cary is our hero.

Stayed here for my daughter’s wedding and it was perfect. Nice sized rooms, kitchen well stocked and lots of balconies to hangout in. The location was great. It was close to the beach and venue. There are lots of stairs which we were fine with but did get a workout. Our host was also very responsive when I had questions.

Great property for a family vacation! Starting with the couch in the family room, so comfy! Kitchen has everything you need and my wife loved the fridge! Spacious bedrooms and bathrooms are great! And finally, our son loved the putting green! 5 min drive from the beach and great restaurants all around! Weill definitely come back again!

Good location neat vibe

Every aspect of our booking, from the pre-trip communication with Cary to the home was fantastic. The amenities were top notch. Plenty of towels, coffee making options and supplies, as well as bottled water and welcome wine! The beds were comfortable, the showers had plenty of hot water and the decor was beautiful. While the driveway was definitely steep, it was not too long and there really weren't tons of steps as we feared based on a previous review. Certainly, if you have significant mobility problems the assortment of stairs might present a problem, but no issues for us average folks. Cary was great to work with and the location was excellent. Easy walking distance to a number of restaurants, bars and the state beaches. We had family staying at the Best Western which was a 5 min walk, and this was a better dealfor us to have our adult daughter along and get to spend time together when in town for a wedding. We would not hesitate to book here again!

Fantastic property in an incredible location. We have stayed here multiple times!

Our stay was wonderful and home is very clean and very nice location. 2 bedrooms are pretty small with too big of dressers and hard to manu er with suitcase. Also need an extra chair in dining room for table. Otherwise everything else was excellent and enjoyed having beach chairs and umbrellas and towels for the beach!! I would highly recommend this place!!!

Great location- loved being able to walk to beach , parks and marina. Cary was a wonderful host/ property manager. If we are lucky enough to return to Dana Point would definitely try to rent this home again!

We went to a wedding at the Catholic Church up the hill, which was Saint Edward the confessor. So convenient and close.

Property was exactly what we needed for the weekend. The location was peaceful and welcoming, and the beach being a walk away was convenient. Communication was smooth and responsive. Would recommend for anyone looking to rent!

As Parents of the Bride we needed a home located close to the ceremony location on the cliffs of Dana Point. We enjoyed everything about the home, I should mention I did get a cardio workout from the driveway- to the steps into the home- to the steps in the home - to the steps to the master suite. For those of you who aren’t used to steps, this might not be the spot for you.

Property is spacious and well equipped and the location is great!

We have family in Dana Point and stay in the area often. Love this location even without a vehicle. At most, a 10-15 minute walk to the beach, harbor, grocery store, restaurants and the Farmer's Market (on Saturdays). The house was great and had everything we needed including ample parking. Would definitely recommend and book in the future.

For the past four years, we have chosen Cary's home in Dana Point for our business team accommodations. Cary has consistently been an exceptional host, and we anticipate booking with him again in the future. 10/10 stay.

It was a nice house, though the shower window in the master needs a curtain. Some of the doors don't stay latched. Better lighting needed in bathrooms. Whoever cleans needs to do a better job sweeping under the couch. I was thrilled to see lots of books and DVDs to choose from. I would stay there again though. It was well worth it. Host was very nice.

Cary was an incredible host! The Castle by the Sea was such an incredible place to stay. The nautical touches made this stay even more enjoyable. Our group spent time cooking and the kitchen was very well equiped. The living room couch was such a comfy place to hang out! We really enjoyed the balconies for a quiet way to enjoy the mornings. You can really see all of the thought that went into this lovely home, and I know you will love your stay! We sure did! Cary was great to work with! 10/10 would recommend!

We came to town for a wedding and Disneyland! This home was so beautifully kept it was comfortable. It was spacious. It had every single thing that we needed. We loved the decor and the feel of home. We definitely recommend this beautiful home to anyone! The owner was so helpful and kind. A family consensus said that their favorite thing about Was the intercom that went throughout the house. They used it frequently and it was a great source Greatof humor. 😂 Please don’t hesitate to rent this home…you won’t be sorry! We will come back so day for sure!
