Casa Tropical - Gardens & Wildlife @ Manuel Antonio's Hill Top Hidden Paradise

It is a unique opportunity to stay in this property. The road leads to the property is somewhat difficult ti negotiate, the owner provides very detailed instructions you better follow it very carefully. We arrived on the dark that was not easy to get there. However the morning is very fun with birds and monkeys wake you up. The roof top patio is the place to be. We have monkeys came right to the patio to dance. There are some residents iguanas on the 3rd floor. There are fans in every room and they are very necessary. AC in each bedroom is wonderful. Laundry is done by the property manager team. Someone comes around to pick up Laundry also clean the house, empty trash that was very nice. Some good eateries just 5 minutes away. Get to the town center is also 6 to 8 minutes away.

We so enjoyed our time at Casa Tropical! The house is immaculate and well taken care of. There are lots of cozy places to sit and enjoy the lovely grounds, full of a large variety of plants. The roof top area is terrific. You can see the ocean past the forest treeline one direction, and mountains the another. We spent every lovely morning there. We saw many birds (maccaws, tucans, etc.) And heard howler monkies. The pool is wonderful too. The house is not far from the main road, but I would want a car. The drive is easy once you do it a couple times. The area is very convenient to town and to Manuel Antonio and all the resteraunts, grocery stores, etc. We have been lucky enough to stay here before and hope to do so again! Andres was helpful setting up excusions and answering questions. Costa Rica and this house are favorites of mine. Dont hesitate to book!

The house and the property are absolutely beautiful. The view from the top floor was amazing; we were able to see Macaws, monkeys, toucans, and all sorts of birds. The pool was also just perfect, clean and recently remodeled, so nice. The hosts are very accommodating and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we return to this area.

The host was very welcoming and kind. Pay attention to his directions and you will drive straight to the house. Our concierge, Andres, was amazing. All of his recommendations were fabulous. The house, the grounds, the people and the animals made Casa Tropical a place that I would love to come back to someday soon.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Tropical. Short drive to Manuel Antonio and the numerous beaches. Steve was great and provided excellent directions to the house. Highlights of the house include viewing the wildlife from the rooftop patio (Macaws, Toucans, and Monkeys who visit daily) and a beautiful pool to cool off after a day of touring the sites. Absolutely beautiful sunset from the roof. Highly recommended and would rent again.

The house and grounds were beautiful and Andres and the team were fantastic! They take a lot of pride in maintaining the house for the owner and were very knowledgeable about the area. We loved staying and would come back again. Highly recommend!

I just checked out this morning and I can wait to go back. Outstanding property- we saw tons of birds, mammals, butterflies and reptiles from the two incredible decks. Our kids got up early every day to go watch birds and monkeys. Andres was an amazing concierge, answering questions and making reservations for activities and dinner. One of the most beautiful properties I’ve ever stayed in, and the kindest host, made this one of the most exceptional vacations.

We loved this house! My kids called it a mansion! The three levels of living were perfect for our family of 7. We saw many birds, monkeys, and a sloth while we were there. The pool area was relaxing and fun for the kids. The air was super cold in the rooms, and it worked great. The kitchen was nice and big and allowed my son to cook for us easily. We had a ton of super dirty laundry from an excursion we took prior to coming to the property, and Andres arranged for a service to pick up and drop off our laundry for a fee.

We had a wonderful time at Casa Tropical. It’s a beautiful home in a gorgeous setting.Andres was amazing. So helpful and kind. He really goes above and beyond to ensure a great time for everyone. Although we didn’t meet Kassandra in person, she was wonderful with keeping everything neat and tidy and washing our clothes for us halfway through. Andres went above and beyond and helping us with yours, taxis, restaurants, and anything we needed. He was very knowledgeable in regards to the wildlife around the property and when and where to spot them. We highly recommed Casa Tropical to anyone thinking of visiting the area.Thank you again for an amazing vacation!

We had an unforgettable stay at Casa Tropical near Manuel Antonio! The home is surrounded by incredible wildlife—during our visit we saw squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, macaws, toucans, parrots, agoutis, a gladiator frog, iguanas, hummingbirds, and more. It felt like living in a nature documentary!The house itself is spacious, well-equipped, and beautifully maintained. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for everyone to be comfortable, and the air conditioning in the bedrooms worked perfectly—cool and refreshing. The pool has been updated from the photos and is even more stunning in person, a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring.One unexpected gem was the library—something for everyone to read. Then there are plenty of peaceful spots around the home to unwind and read during our stay. The road up to the house is much easier to navigate than many others in the area, which made coming and going fairly hassle-free.Andres, the host, was incredibly welcoming. He greeted us upon arrival, walked us through everything the home had to offer (including how to call birds and other wildlife!), arranged our National Park tour, and offered great suggestions for other activities.Casa Tropical was the perfect home base for our Costa Rican adventure—comfortable, inspiring, and full of life in every sense. If we ever get an opportunity to come back, we will look no further than Casa Tropical.

This place was a major highlight of our trip. The property was beautiful and the pool was a great escape from the heat. The house had everything we needed for our stay. Andres was great to have around to help when we needed also. Pura Vida!

Casa tropical is a beautiful place filled with the most amazing wildlife. The pool and garden are so peaceful and relaxing. I enjoyed watching the birds every morning on the rooftop patio. We had daily monkey visits. I loved this place so much I didn't want to leave.

This house is wonderful! Beautiful property. Lots of wildlife. Host was so helpful with setting up tours or just giving advice about where to shop/eat. Bedrooms are downstairs, living area upstairs. Laundry can be done but no washer/dryer to do your own laundry while there. We would stay here again!

Our family reunion at Casa Tropical was made extra special, largely because of the spectacular setting of this home. Each day was a sensory extravaganza of animals, and stunning flora and fauna,with so many options to experience the full extent of the location of this home. We referred to the upper deck as Jungle TV, where we could spend hours listening,and observing the natural wonders.Andres, the concierge, was welcoming,organized, professional and helpful. Anna and Kassandra prepared an unforgettable traditional meal. We hope to visit again one day.

The property manager was very helpful in organizing activities for us. The pool was fantastic as was the entire house. The road up to the house can be hard to find but once you are there you won’t want to leave!

We were a group of ten and our stay here was incredible. The house is immaculate, beautiful and spacious. The outdoor spaces and decks are so expansive it was hard to choose where to spend our time. We saw more wildlife here than we did anywhere else. The macaws flying through daily and troops of monkeys and the views were incredible! We regret not staying longer so we could have just enjoyed doing nothing but be at the house, it’s that great! Taking in the views, sounds and sights of the wildlife was something none of us will ever forget. We all highly recommend staying here! Thank you Steve and Andres for your hospitality!

The grounds of this home are even more beautiful than the pictures. It is a sensory feast - the gardens, butterflies, parrots, iguanas, songbirds, toucans, ocean and mountain views, smells of flowers and jungle - you just don't get tired of it. Only the bedrooms have AC, so the main living area can get warm midday, but the fans held a lot. The kitchen is set up well for making family meals (and saving money as eating out is pricey). The pool and the 3rd floor balcony are major plusses. I do not hesitate to recommend this house for a stay in the Quepos / Manuel Antonio area - my family of 5 loved it.
