Casa La Jolla: A Private Paradise in Los Ayala, Riviera Nayarit

This was our second time staying at Casa La Jolla. Once again everything was exceptional! When we arrived parts of Los Ayala had lost power. Josie, Maribel and Ricardo went over and above all expectations to make sure we were looked after and comfortable. They contacted the power company and kept in contact with them to ensure everything was being done to restore the power. Josie was very easy to work with from responding to questions when we were considering her property to inquires before the trip about transpiration to and from her home, check in questions, things to do and recommendations for places to eat. The home is well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen to the pool area / beach toys and games on the roof top patio. The pool and yard is well maintained by their Host Ricardo and his wife. There is plenty of hot water and the bedroom's are comfortable with quality linens and towels. We especially enjoyed dining on the outdoor patio many evenings with the ambient lighting in the yard, patio and the pool. We enjoyed our stay in the lovely & friendly little town of Los Ayala. We will definitely consider visiting Los Ayala in the future and will definitely stay at Josie's beautiful home again!

My wife and I both work remote and wanted to change up the scenery for a bit. So we stayed at Casa La Jolla for 12 days to work, relax and explore the area. Wow! This house was flawless. We had plenty of space and room to both have our own private work areas in different parts of the house. The WiFi was fast and flawless. We never had any issues at all. Some nights we would head into town for dinner and come back home to finish our evening off in the pool or streaming a show in the living room, while other nights we would grab take out and bring it back, and sometimes we would even grab groceries and just cook dinner. Regardless of what we decided to do the house met all our needs. One big thing we always look for in a vacation spot is a place having all the items and utensils we need to enjoy our days and evenings however we choose. Well this place did not lack in any way. The pool was absolutely amazing too. We were in it constantly. It was so inviting, spacious and the perfect temp. This place is absolutely beautiful. It's so spacious, well appointed and well hosted. You can tell that there was so much thought and consideration that went into setting up this vacation home. We would highly recommend it to anyone!

We really enjoyed our stay at Josie’s! They thought of literally EVERYthing you could want or need at a vacation house. From laundry to milk frothers, dvds for the family to enjoy, and beyond. She was super responsive with any random questions we had, even going so far as to help suggest some places to check for specific activities. Her pool guy was super polite and personable and we appreciated knowing the water was in great shape the whole time we were there. The kids loved the saltwater pool and upper patio especially. Great for family card games, hanging out, and the property overall feels so spacious, no one felt like they were cramped or getting tired of being together. It’s a decent walk to the beach on pretty rocky road, but it made for a fun walk each day to look at things in town, pick different streets, and really keeps the weekend local scene at bay by being a little set back from the Main Street/beach area. So we enjoyed the tranquility very much. Plus, Los Ayala is such a pristine beach and waterfront, even compared with the nearby towns, it was so great and calm for the kids as far as ocean time goes. We would definitely love to come back and recommend Josie’s casa!

We loved our stay in Los Ayala. The Colectivo is within a block, shops within a block, beach about 2 blocks. 55 peso by taxi to Guayabitos,15 peso by Colectivo (bus) to Guayabitos. The house is literally stocked with everything you can possibly think of that you might need and I mean everything. Out door speaker, batteries for everything that needs a battery, power cords, cell phone charging pads, milk frother, blender & cooler. Pool is heated, which is beautiful, and we spent quite a bit of time there. The pool gets sun most of the day so it is perfect, but easy to find shade if that is what you wish. With the pool being heated you can have a lovely swim in the evening as well, without the chill. Look over the second story balcony, and a lovely lady is making donuts, pies, bread & buns. I just knocked on her door, she invited me in, welcomed me, and purchased her very fresh delicious baking. Neighbour out the front door are very friendly as well. Walk up the hill about a block and there is a lovely restaurant with great food & you can bring your own bevvies if you wish ( They close after lunch sometime). Los Ayala is a very small town with a spattering of tourists, a nice change from the hustle and bustle of nearby towns. Guayabitos is so so close, which have a greater variety of restaurants, as we found good restaurants were quite limited in Los Ayala. All in all,it was a great place to stay. Hosts and caretakers are very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this Vrbo! The location couldn’t have been better – not only was it close to hiking trails, allowing us to explore the lush jungle but it was also surrounded by numerous food options. Whether we were craving a cozy café or a lively night out, everything was just a short walk or drive away. The accommodation itself was beyond our expectations – spacious, modern, and incredibly well-maintained. We particularly loved the privacy of the property, which made it feel like a true retreat. The amenities were outstanding, from the refreshing pool to the gorgeous rooftop palapa, where we spent evenings enjoying the view and relaxing. And the cornhole setup was a fun bonus for some friendly competition! Every detail was thoughtfully considered, from the cozy furnishings to the fully equipped kitchen. We were especially impressed by the outstanding service from the host, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We left with memories to cherish and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

My description would be nothing but superlatives. Imagine you are staying in a five star hotel with all the amenities. That’s what my family found and for which we are most grateful. There was a minor glitch and Josie responded and rectify the situation very quickly. Highly recommend.
