Casa del Montoc House - Trou d''Eau Douce

Had everything that we wanted and really close to a beautiful beach. Great place to stay. Also excellent communication from the owner who was really helpful.

We have just returned from a wonderful vacation in Mauritius and were fortunate enough to spend a few days at Casa del Montoc in True D'eau Douce. This is a wonderful property and can't say enough what a great time we had there. From the booking of the villa and advise before arriving the communication with Sophie was first class. the check in/out process was very simple and we also received some very good restaurant recommendations and tips for our time in True D'Eau Douce. The walk from the villa to the beach is 60m down a secluded sandy alley and if required there are 2 beach front hotels not more than a couple hundred metres along the beach to enjoy sunbeds and drinks. The villa is a little bit out of the village but we found taxis to be very reasonable and there are plenty taxis around.The villa itself is really charming and a great place for a family. A lovely large deck area for dining, having a drink, playing games etc and the bedrooms offer plenty of space.I can thoroughly recommend Casa del Montoc!

Host was very communicative, all small problems like earlier arrival were solved easily, our housemate Paquerette did a fine diner for us (included!), maybe 100 meters distance to a non-crowded beach - nothing to complain about:-)highly recommendation

We had a wonderful stay. The casa was beautiful, great location. Any questions we had was answered very by Sophie and she was very helpful. Paquerette cooked us a wonderful lunch and was helpful too.Will definitely be recommending others to stay here.

we stayed for 6 days in this extraordinary and beautifully furnished house. The host Sophie was very kind and helpful and Paquerette, the housekeeper, was also a nice lady, who did a really good job. the house is situated close to the beach and in walking distance to Trou d´eau Douce. If you are into snorkeling, Sophie recommended Kevin, whom we found to be a very sensible and experienced boat driver. we would like to come back one day.

Charming,stylish, clean, spacious, well appointed family home with lots of thoughtful touches. We loved it here (family of 4, one 10 month-old and one 3 year old). We were very sad to leave!

The homeowner, Sophie, met as when we arrived. She had beverages and stayed to answer questions and point out features of the house. So appreciated! We had plenty of hot water very comfortable furniture, and immediate help anytime I had a question because Sophie responded so quickly. We were here in the winter so it was a bit too chilly and occasionally rainy to enjoy swimming at the beach just yards from the house, but I appreciated watching the ocean for the time I had. The covered patio with the dining room set and comfortable sofa plus the hammock were the highlight for me. We played cards and enjoyed good Mauritian food for hours out there. Would highly recommend this house!

Villa Montoc is a spacious, beautifully furnished well equipped house 50 meters from a great beach where you can swim and snorkel. We, a familiy of four with two children of 8 and 11, enjoyed ourselves very much. Sophie is a great host.

Warm welcome from Paquerette had a delicious Mautitian meal for us on arrival. Plenty of room for all of us, a beautiful veranda for sitting out and chilling and just steps from the beach. Sophie was extremely attentive and checked that all was fine with us every day. Thank you, we will keep great memories

This house is really a wonderful and magic place and Sophie is so friendly and helpful that you don’t have to worry about anything. We’ve spent three wonderful weeks there with our two little girls. Later some more of our family joined and in the end we were 5 adults, 3 kids and one baby living in Sophie’s house - and still there was more than enough space for all of us. As soon as we arrived we’ve felt at home because you can really see and feel that Sophie is caring for this house. We took a short nap after a long flight and in the meantime Paquerette prepared a delicious curry for us, which we enjoyed as a great start of our stay. Paquerette is such a nice person and we really appreciated her extraordinary help and service. The children were always asking when she will come the next time. There are so many things to do on Mauritius, but even if you spend your days in or around the house, this is pure holidays. The terrace is a wonderful place to take your meals, to hang around and relax and enjoy the garden with the birds’ concert all day long. Only a few meters and you are at the beach. And for a beach directly accessible from the house, this is really great. It is not at all crowded, clean, you can do great snorkeling when you go some hundred meters further to the north or have endless beach walks. Trou d’Eau Douce is a nice little village and most of the things you need you can get there. Otherwise e.g. take the public bus which stops directly in front of the house and go to Flacq, which is also a nice experience, especially when there is market day on Wednesdays and Sundays. The region is calm and not very touristy compared to the North and much more „authentic“ which we liked a lot. Sophie was so helpful in arranging the transfer from the airport, providing contacts for taxi and rental car, recommending places and restaurants. One thing we and especially the children really enjoyed was renting a speed boat with Vicky boats who picked us up directly at the beach, taking us to all day tours e.g. of course to Île aux Cerfs, or to Île aux Fouquets, several amazing snorkeling spots and with or without (great!) BBQ and so on … I could go on writing only good things about our holidays, about Mauritius, about this really extraordinary house and so on … But for now I say one more thank you and hello to Sophie and Paquerette and hope that his was not our last stay there.
