Cake by the Ocean | Bay Views + Boat Parking

The house is beautiful! Perfect size for myself and family 9 and our dogs. Literally a couple blocks from the beach. Few blocks down from stores and shops and restaurants.

The property was larger that I thought it would be, the location was amazing and everything was very clean. The golf cart that was at the house sounded like it was going to fall apart but one call to the cart place and the switched us out with another one. The only thing they could improve would be all the dead landscaping. The gardener in me wanted to get out there and work on it;) We had a great stay and would use this property again.

I am used to checking in at 1500 and having to wait until 1600 delays our unloading our bags and causing delays in the family arriving. Communication between us and the office was a constant question.’once 160” came we were able to take it from there. Backyard is dangerous for all of us.

I was overly surprised by the property! Everything is perfectly located from the beach house, and thank you for having the golf cart included in the rental. I am looking forward to our next family vacation with your rental business. Thank you again!

Reviewer Comments: After battling leukemia with our sixteen year old daughter for the last 10 months, we were looking forward to a much needed family vacation. We've been going to Port A for years and usually opt for a condo. We decided to splurge on Cake by the Ocean. We arrived to multiple dead cockroaches on the stairs and entry way.There was no toilet paper or trash bags upon arrival. There were no sheets on 4 of the beds and the comforters were thrown on the floor. The kitchen floor was dirty and sticky. The bathrooms were filthy and every shower was lined with mold. There was hair on master sheets. All the fans were caked in dust which we cleaned off the first night we were there. There were no towels in any of the restrooms. We had a breaker go out with no response until next day...we had already fixed the problem by that time ourselves. We called about the house being dirty- the response from the after hours gentleman: is it not clean or just not clean to your standards? (Who says this??). We also called about towels and were told they would send over housekeeper, no one ever showed up. Needless to say, it was a nightmare and we took multiple pictures to document...wish we could post here. The house is large and could be a great place to stay if it was kept up by the rental agency.

Cake by the Ocean is a wonderful house to stay in...lots of room for everyone, nice backyard and super great location. Overall loved the property. A few things we didn't think was right...especially due to the covid times: Coffee pot was dirty, dishwasher had dirty dishes in it, no hand soap in kitchen, an opened bar of soap in shower, sink in downstairs bathroom didn't work, only 3 trash can liners for kitchen, the grill and tools where dirty. I tried to call the office several time and I even left a message but no one returned my phone call. We made the best of it...enjoying family time and the beach!

The home is large and at a good location but it needed maintenance. We were missing pillowcases on all the pillows but a simple call and housekeeping brought many. The master shower had a bad leak, the 1st floor shower had a broken handle and one sink had no water. Many of the bed frames needed to be reinforced as the supports were broken. It was also time for many of the mattresses to be replaced as they were very broken in. We reported all the water issues and one of the bed frames. The management company had someone there to work on these items the day we left - which is what we requested since none of the issues was an emergency. The first golf cart we had was not in good shape - backfiring and not accelerating on the road. By day 2 it would not shift into reverse but again another phone call and the management company brought out a new cart that worked great. The home is great for large groups as there is plenty of room. It just needed some good maintenance. Maybe a day or 2 out of service periodically to check that everything is in good working condition.

Great house. Great yard. Still waiting on property manager to get back to me about items left, but we had a good time.

The kids had a great time. We like the layout of the house and perfect for a large group or family. On a moderately busy street so there were good carts of folks going by with music late into the evening but hey it’s vacation time so not that big of a deal.
