Stayed Aug 29, 2025We throughly enjoyed our stay at Kate’s house in Shelter Island. It was just what we needed while we were in town for a wedding. Plenty of space & bathrooms.

Stayed Jul 31, 2025It was only okay, a few reasons. Down stairs was musty, the office chairs had some mold on them. There was something leaking from above the washer/dryer. I told Kate and she said it was the A/C so we could not use the A/C the final day. And also could not start the laundry. None of the bedrooms had window screens in them, so you could not get any fresh air. I would not rent this house again, I also think it is to expensive for what I got out of it.

Stayed Jun 30, 2023Overall we enjoyed our time in Kate home. The bathing beach is a 10 minute walk, but you can purchase a day permit. The area is beautiful!

Stayed Sep 27, 2020Wonderful nature beautiful sky and moon. We loved Shelter Island - Kate’s house is roomy with a large backyard to see deer and nature Close walk to beach where we could walk along and enjoy Would highly recommend !

Stayed Aug 30, 2020The pictures do not do it justice. It has new bathrooms and a new kitchen. there is no outside picture of the house on VRBO and it is very pretty and bigger than expected. The bathrooms were spotlessly clean when we arrived. Since it is a one block walk to the beach, we did not use the outdoor decks nor backyard. We hope to return again.

Stayed Aug 1, 2020The location of this house is great. Hay Beach is the best beach on Shelter Island and it was a quick walk from the house. While there were a few maintenance issues that popped up during our stay, Kate was always easy to reach. Even when the power went out in a storm. There was enough room for our party and we spent a lot of time on the back deck.
