Beautiful home! Pictures don’t do it justice. Perfect for large groups. Secluded location but within close proximity to many points of interest in the UP.
Great location. Cottage is just as described. Everything you might need is provided. Beach is sandy as is the lake bottom. Very suitable for small children. The lake is very large with very little boat traffic. A very relaxing place to stay and the host is out to make your stay enjoyable.
Beautiful view, very quiet - heard loons at night and saw the bald eagles fly by during the day. Size was as advertised, and well supplied for all water activities. Owner lives next door and does use downstairs for storage and workshop; very responsive with any and all issues we had, including a forgotten much loved stuffy that he sent with haste to our young kiddo. The bedding and towels could do with a refresh, but all were clean and serviceable. Overall a very relaxing spot, thank you for having us!
Wonderful place. Very convenient and the lake is a plus
Facilities and access to lake are excellent. Cabin was very clean and supplied with adequate bedding, towels, etc. Host is very accommodating. I was accompanied by my four sons and son-in-law, ranging is ages 53 to 65, all of whom enjoyed the stay.
Beautiful place on a nice sandy lake. Host was very nice and helpful.
The property was just as in the pictures. Checking in and out was very easy.
A beautiful home with a great view and yard. Kitchen has all you need. Just needs a deep clean and maybe some updated linens. The host was excellent at communicating everything we needed to know. I recommend this property!
We used this as 'home base' for a hiking trip in the Upper Peninsula. Easy access to all the great sites. Comfortable house that is very easy to feel like home.
Jon was so very helpful and kind! We put in 400 miles of buggy riding and coming back to a comfortable, clean place was great. The flight of stairs was a little tough at the end of the day for a couple of “seniors” in the group ;)
Thanks for being such great hosts. It was so easy asking questions and booking. This is a beautiful and clean home with lots of space for cooking, board games, and a cozy stay inside with a great dock for boating and an awesome spacious third story porch. The lake has great fishing for small mouth bass, pike, and perch. I love the seclusion of the location.
Eagles nest was a beautiful lake home with all the amenities you’ll need on a beautiful, peaceful lake. Jon the owner was great with communication and making sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend this property to anyone.
The Eagles Nest was a beautiful place for our little family vacation. A quiet (minus our kids lol) place with a beautiful view day and night. Listening to the loons was the topping on the cake. Jon was a great host and very friendly. The accommodations were wonderful. I can't say enough how much we loved the place. It truely had a homely feeling. We were extremely appreciative of Jon and families hospitality. We would highly recommend The Eagles Nest and cannot wait to be back.
We had a great time staying in this cabin. It was very clean and there was plenty of room for the ten of us. The yard was fantastic, the view amazing.we loved having the kayaks and canoe to use.it was nice that Jon was next door, he checked with us a few times to see if we needed anything. We would love to stay there again someday.
Jon, the host, was quick to respond to any questions and made sure I had all the information I needed for our stay. The house was in a beautiful setting. Very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. While this wasn’t an issue for me, but it was for our younger guests- the listing does say there is WiFi and there was not. And cell service was very spotty. The fish are huge, but bring a net if you hope to get them into the boat with you. Beds are firm, but comfortable. I would bring your own pillow though. Thank you for sharing your secluded, beautiful home with us. We really enjoyed it.
Wonderful family getaway! Beautiful cabin on a lovely, secluded lake. Our hosts were gracious, friendly, and very accommodating! Everyone enjoyed watching the eagles, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and fishing, along with the nighttime campfires by the water. Our week at the Eagles Nest went by much too quickly. We all enjoyed an amazing week full of relaxation and making wonderful family memories. We would absolutely recommend the Eagles Nest to everyone! Thank you, Mattesons, for your gracious hospitality!
Beautiful property and location. Had a great time and look forward to going back. Thank you again for the wonderful hospitality!
Good experience. Came a little early so we didn’t catch many fish. Lake is beautiful. Close to many attractions. Host was very friendly. Thank you for allowing us to use your place to reconnect with our family.
