We had a wonderful time here for a week with our family! There was 9 of us total and plenty of space! We loved being on the quiet part of the lake, and had kind neighbors as well. It is a beautiful area and a great distance to so many things to keep you busy. The owners were very easy to work with and responsive during out stay. Will definitely stay here again!
Perfect place to relax and enjoy!
We enjoyed our stay here with plenty of room for 8 adults. From fishing off the dock, playing games around the dining room table, day trips, sitting on the deck, and catching a glimpse of wildlife. We saw 3 cute foxes, and a momma duck and babies. The sunsets are amazing over the lake. We definitely would stay here again.
We had a great time at this cottage. We had lots of kids, they loved the bunk room! We fished, tubed, had fires, and played on the sandy beach! We live 20 minutes away in St Ignace so we were able to bring out the kayaks too! Thanks for a great time!
The house was a great place for our family (6 adults and 4 kids) to stay for the week while we explored local parts of the UP. Lots of space in the house and the yard for everyone to have room, but also to come together for meals and other activities. Close proximity to St Ignace and Mackinac Island ferry (25 minutes), some sand dunes along Lake Michigan (10 minutes), and the Falls (1 hour).. It was a great place to relax and recharge. Thanks Caroline and Jeff for the use of your place for the week!
Great property, easy process, everything you need, loved the lake and layout was great for bigger group with kids. Will look forward to returning!
Our family had a lovely time at the cottage. The check in/out process was easy, communication was great, and the house had everything we needed. Our kids loved fishing off the dock, the duckies, and playing in the yard. Perfect getaway within reasonable distance to many attractions.
The lake has a small area of sand for young children to play, a shallow area to swim and a dock to fish for perch and bass (at least that’s what we caught). The layout of the house works well for a party of 8 - 10. The gas grill was great for us to cook most of our meals. The only downside was the cleanliness of the rooms. I’m not sure the owners are paying for what they get from their cleaning person/persons. My DIL and myself took an hour to vacuum, mop, wipe areas down and remove extensive cobwebs from behind doors and corners. When I called the owners to report it, they were receptive to my comments. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the upper peninsula.
Enjoyed our stay very much. Was very appreciative of being able to use the boat dock. Nice location with plenty of room to park and easy to access. Thanks Todd
This house should have a 5 star rating. The reason it got rated lower was because of the last 3 hours of our stay. The house is beautiful! The location is awesome, the lake is beautiful! On our last day at the house, my kids were having one more swim in the lake and we were running out of time quickly. I talked to the owner and she told us not to worry, and to stay out of the house keepers way. As we were leaving, the housekeeper was already there, she was extremely rude to us, questioning why we were there and telling us she will call and tell on us. I informed her I had already talked to the owner. My husband took our last luggage out of the house & she slammed the door in his face and locked it. We were a bit frazzled by how we were being treated. We drove down the road a few miles and checked our luggage at Castle Rock only to discover we had left my $2,500 camera, case, memory card and all equipment sitting in the yard. We immediately went back to find the front door was wide open, the TV was on, the broom was discarded on the floor next to a half swept pile of leaves. There were skid marks in the yard where someone had left at a high rate of speed. And my camera case was gone. I called the owner to inform her of what was happening she told me that the housekeeper was probably there somewhere because her husband dropped her off and leaves. She said that we could look in the house. I went inside and looked and there was nobody there and my camera case was definitely gone. There were several back-and-forth text messages and calls between me and the owner because the housekeeper was saying that she did not see a camera anywhere. I told the owner that her house was wide open and about the skid marks and that I was going to wait outside off the property and call the police to file a report. About 15 minutes later, the owner texted me to tell me that the housekeeper had admitted to taking my camera and was willing to meet us at a local hospital to give it back. We thankfully got the camera (and most important the memory card) back. The next day I was notified by vrbo that extra charges were added to my bill. I investigated, one reason they stated was because the housekeeper had to leave and come back. I filed fraudulent charges with my cardholder and waited. The charges were determined to be fraudulent and removed. If you rent this house, make sure you get all your stuff!
