Blue Hill, Maine
Listing description
The camp is brand new on 27 acres of land 3 min to Blue Hill Mountain and 5 min to Blue Hill downtown which is right on the water of The Blue Hill Bay. This is an edge wood enchanting retreat perfect for two to hear birds, squirrels and porcupines. Remember to pick some blueberries when it is in season before the black baby bear down the road eat them all. 3D nature is unfolding right in front of your eyes and Acadia National Park is 50 min drive from here. By the side of the tree line, your host grows mushrooms. Oh man, you are free!
A fabulous cabin retreat!
Overall great property. My one piece of feed back would be to put in a traditional deadbolt lock on the main door. For guests piece of mind, although the latch is present it’d enhance feeling of security. Other than that the property was clean, cozy, and had great communication with host.
Very relaxing, cute little place and Polly was the best!
The cottage was clean and comfortable, Polly was on site and a wonderful host. The interior space was smaller than we expected but adequate for two people with all necessary amenities. The screened in porch and deck were perfect for relaxing. Of note, the small fridge is outside on the porch and the toaster oven needs to be moved in and out as needed as there is limited kitchen counter space. The location was peaceful and convenient to area attractions. If you like lobster rolls, order from The Fish Net in downtown Blue Hill. The best we've ever eaten!
The cabin is exactly as described, not sure why other guests didn't stay here, maybe they didn't look at the photos or the map? I think the best way to look at this property is like you're camping in the woods but with a comfy bed, a kitchen and your own bathroom. If you get here expecting a 5* hotel experience you might not be happy. But for us this was like 5* camping! Polly Yan was really friendly and had some interesting stories about the work she has done on the land. There were no issues with check in or check out. The only issue that brought the 'location' score down was due to The gun range at the end of the road. We heard them firing at night and it put us on edge a little. We knew it was just the range, and we weren't in danger, but it slightly took away from an otherwise peaceful stay.
Absolutely wonderful little cabin in the woods. Very comfortable with everything you need. Modern amenities but still *feels* cozy/rustic. The huge deck and screened in porch are very nice additions.
This wooden cabin is tucked on the back of the property, surrounded by trees, so it is a great place to relax after a day exploring the coastal towns and mountains of Maine. The screened porch is great to unwind and read at night, and the bed is very comfortable. I also loved having a small kitchenette with a fridge, as it allowed me to prepare my own breakfast every morning. Would love to stay here again next summer!
We were disappointed to find that the listing wasn't what we expected. We did not end up staying. I feel this listing needs to be described more accurately. It definitely wasn't what we expected. However, it might be perfect for someone else.
Process super easy and great little gem in the woods.
A cozy little cabin in the heart of the woods. Close to Blue Hill. Very private. Nice outdoor spaces to sit.
This was a great place to stay the night, super cute area near Acadia that is just the right amount of secluded.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin! The hosts have included small touches that really make a difference in providing a very peaceful and comfortable experience. It's also a great location! We did day trips to Acadia and Bar Harbor and it was so nice to come back to a relaxing setting after a busy day. I would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling through Maine. It's not too urban and not too remote. It's really ideal!
We had wonderful days in this nice little cabin. We loved the furnishing and the beautiful decoration. We watched the birds, enjoyed the bbq on the deck, sat comfortabely in the porch and loved the quiet environment. Polly was lovely and a wonderful host. Thank you for that wonderful experience!
It poured the first two days and it was lovely to read on the screened in porch with a cup of tea while listening to the rain. Polly brought us an extra blanket so we would be comfortable and was super helpful and accommodating. Once the sun was out the back deck was perfect for lounging and sipping morning coffee. Very close to Blue Hill and all the peninsula has to offer.
We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful cabin. So comfortable, had everything we needed, and there were many personal touches to the cabin. I loved that there was a screened in porch and a deck to enjoy. I loved the wooded setting and the style of the cabin was lovely. Highly recommend!
This retreat is a wonderful place to stay. The setting is peaceful and private. The host is very attentive and replies very quickly. Everything is as advertised. It is definitely worth the trip.
The owner put care into every detail of the place. It was comfortable and everything I needed was at hand. It was too chilly to use the screen porch, but it was large and set up for relaxing, conversation and dining. I liked the open deck too. Something that may be particular to me is the smell of the sheets. Some laundry detergents smell awful to me, as I use the sensitive no fragrance kind at home. The smell wasn't overpowering, but noticeable to me. I liked this place, it had a good vibe and I'd definitely stay there again!
