Old Kilmun House was built by the Duke of Argyll in 1696 with stonework dating back to an earlier 16th or 17th Century house. The property was owned and lived in during the late 19th Century by sugar magnate, collector, philanthropist and founder of Benmore Gardens, James Duncan, and then by the Younger family. Stayed Jul 1, 2024Lovely spacious property with great character in beautiful location. Plenty for the children to do both inside and outside! Beautiful walks nearby - unfortunately the weather was mixed but we came prepared.

Stayed Aug 22, 2023Wow, what a location and house. We stayed here with 3 families and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house is located overlooking the Holy Loch and old Kilmun church. Lovely to wake up to the birds every morning. Very peaceful. The house has everything you need, full kitchen and laundry and with 3 bathrooms everyone was happy. The teens loved using the spa while the adults loved sitting in the formal lounge. About a 15 minute drive into the main town of Dunoon. The only thing I could say needs improving is the kitchen could do with a clean out - lots of food products left in there when the rules state no food is to be left in the house and the pots and pans on the open sheaves need a good scrub. We would stay here again.
