All communication is copy and paste. So they talk about things that aren’t even an option such as a hot tub that is at a different location. 1 bathroom didn’t even have hand soap. We got 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom. When we emailed to have more brought over they responded with if we run out it’s up to us to restock. Then they said the house cleaner would drop some soap off. Then they said that isn’t going to happen cause the cleaner is too busy. Communication was terrible. All bedding is mismatched. I didn’t love that. I thought it would be more classy. There was passive aggressive notes left about having bad karma wished upon you if you miss treat the house or items in the house. I felt it was very rude and of poor taste to even write such things. I didn’t love the way bedrooms were set up with a tiny single bed in a room but a double bed in an open area. Bedroom doors don’t latch/shut well.

Kitchen is well stocked and easy to prepare food. The dog was happy with the back yard so handy. I had trouble booking because I could not access the full description of the property until I had booked it. It would be helpful to give a more detailed description earlier. Also confusing was the different sites I heard from: VRBO, KEYLINK. I could not use VRBO because I have 2 accounts and could not determine which one I had used for this reservation.

Everything was good. There is plenty of space for our family of 5. It is a very accessible walk to shops and restaurants. I wish the gas fireplace had been operational. There were some really chilly October mornings. The property manager replied very quickly about it not being on for the season yet.

Location was great! The kitchen was great! There is a big infestation on the second floor & needs to be addressed. I have video / pics of the numerous amounts, each of the 4 nights we were there. They crawled on us at night! Also, the towels need to be replaced. They are likely 40 years old. A bit of a refresh on the comforters would be nice, too. It was also an itching hit upon our arrival & would have been nice to have an AC unit on the bottom floor. After leaving windows open overnight, the temperature in the ease came down from 81 to 76, which was more manageable with fans. The cherry tree was nice, but after 4 days we needed an outdoor broom to sweep up the squirrel’s feasts.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews but this situation leaves me no choice. I’ve rented with VRBO for years and I’m appalled at how this situation has been handled. Upon our arrival to this home everything seemed fine, we checked in, put our stuff in the rooms and went to dinner. When we got back from dinner there were bugs all over the upstairs bedrooms, on the beds, the walls, the towels and floors. I’m assuming they come in through the wall air conditioner unit. Those bedrooms are so hot that it would be impossible to sleep without them on. I wasn’t going to have my children sleeping with bugs crawling everywhere so we took videos and pictures and contacted the host. We had to find somewhere else to stay. I assumed the host/vrbo would agree that no one should sleep in a room full of bugs and refund me my money. They continued to tell me that this was normal for the area and it was something I should just have to deal with, even suggesting I vacuum them up? After two days of trying to get my money back they said they only found 2 dead bugs on the carpet and won’t be giving me a refund. I have videos of live bugs and apparently that doesn’t matter. I’ve spent thousands and thousands of dollars using VRBO and I will never use them again.

The house was roomy, clean, and charming. We loved the location, amenities of the house, and thoughtful small things like games and books. The only drawback is the summer heat. Because the house lacks cooling in the main level and the upstairs cooling can only be run while people are there (not while house is unattended), the house gets uncomfortably hot. It would be perfect for fall/winter or spring.

Our group of six women enjoyed the house. It was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook meals at the house. The beds and bedding were all comfortable. We enjoyed sitting outside in the yard as well as gathering at the table for meals and games. We had a great time at the house and would definitely recommended it to others and would stay there again if visiting the area.

Pros: - location was great. Just two blocks off Grand Ave which runs straight through DT Glenwood. Walking distance to pretty much everything. - kitchen very well equipped. We love to cook and typically bring things with us that we know we’ll want because you just never know but this kitchen had everything. Cons: - the house was in disrepair. From a back deck that had several large rotting holes in the wood as well as no steps and no railing to a broken and deteriorated plank in the wood flooring in the kitchen to a tv set that was basically dangling from a pedestal without any mounting to the wall behind it with power chords plugged into extension chords and hdmi cables handing from the tv which could have been very easily pulled by my toddler which would have resulted in the entire unit falling on her to lastly a twin bed upstairs which again my daughter had to use that was nearly falling apart. Lots of room for improvement on the house condition. - also, as indicated by a note from the owners, apparently there is a lot of ‘energy’ in the house with various crystals left in key places to ‘balance the energy out’ If the metaphysical bothers you in anyway I definitely would not recommend this place. My husband had nightmares every night.

Nice old home, over 100 years old, with a front gate that drags on the concrete, a back deck that collapsed a foot during our stay, a first generation Visio “smart tv” that had discontinued apps and no access to Apple TV, Paramount+, MLB TV, etc., with an Xfinity cable box in need of upgrading and horribly intermittent internet. The internet literally went down 5 times a day for the entirety of our stay. But, close to town with a nice yard and a nicely equipped kitchen.
