Beautiful House, only 1.2 Miles To Shy Beaver Boat Launch on Raystown Lake

Comfortable home. Three separate living spaces. Bedroom and full bath on each floor. Clean. Had everything we needed. Not much nearby but we enjoyed staying in all weekend.

Second time visiting. Excellent location

This VRBO was the location of our annual friends get together for the second year in a row! Everyone that comes loves it. The hot tub, the well stocked kitchen, the location, and the pool table! Great room for parking and friendly neighbors!

We absolutely love your house. There were 6 of us, including a 7 year old boy and 5 year old girl who loved the fire pit, bunkbeds and staying up later and of course using the hot tub after dinner on the deck. Our grandson enjoyed playing pool with his Daddy which by his own account was the best part of our stay at your Raystown Lake house, even more so than spending a day on the lake tubing behind the pontoon. Go figure! The furnishings and decor are magazine worthy....very on point for the house setting. Great job!!! I would like to address some issues I've noted regarding housekeeping. We found several instances where the cleaning crew cut corners. It wasn't any one thing that ruined our stay but, nevertheless should be addressed. We would definitely stay there again, with pleasure.

Bear's Retreat was the perfect getaway spot to explore the Raystown Lake area and spend quality time with family and friends in absolutely stunning surroundings. The house itself was definitely spacious enough for a large group and was enjoyed by all, from blowing bubbles on the deck with a 5 yr-old after a day swimming with fish at Tatman's Run Beach to a 62 yr-old hustling everyone else at pool in the rec room. Having a second fridge in the kitchenette in rec room was a huge plus for a large group! The host was very responsive through booking and the stay. We would absolutely stay here again!

Wonderful getaway for a family vacation. Gorgeous house in a quiet setting. Only a few miles from convenience stores and Raystown lake. We will be coming back every year!

We had a great time. The house was clean and the kids had a great time playing pool and poker. It was also close to the launch area and Raystown resort which was great for us. The only problem was getting access to the internet/wifi service. The beds were also very firm.

The place is beautiful. There was plenty of parking. The fire pit is convenient to the bottom floor, so easy access to get s'more's supplies. The owner is friendly and accessible through the VRBO app. The beds had freshly laundered sheets wrapped in plastic. We had a wonderful time.

Very much enjoyed the property. Set up of house allows for large groups yet provides privacy. Lots of space both indoors and out.

My siblings and I stayed for our Thanksgiving holiday and everything was perfect! Highly recommend the picturesque cabin. The holiday couldn’t have been better. Thanks for the amazing stay!

Me and several of my friends travel every year for a guys weekend. We had a wonderful stay at this property. We drove to State College for game day and fished the Raystown lake. We enjoyed the game room for pool and football watching and enjoyed the campfire area every nigth we were there. The location was great, secluded and away from people. Ample kitchen ware for cooking, great grill and hot tub.

This was our second stay at Bear's Retreat and we love it! The cabin is clean & spacious--the prefect place for our college roommate get-togethers. We can't wait to return next year!

The house was in a beautiful setting and the walls of windows made the indoors bright and lovely. We enjoyed numerous on-site activities with the pool table, corn hole, fire pit and hot tub. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking supplies, the beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of room for our family of 4 adults. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and other family members.

Overall very nice place, but location description must be more accurate. The house about 1.2 miles from boat ramp and of course we took our 24 ft pantoon boat with us, but no wat you can climb that dry

This was the perfect weekend getaway for our family before our kids went back to college. The host was kind and communicated well when we had questions. We have stayed in this house multiple times over the years and always had a great time. We will definitely be coming back.

Property was amazing overall. Very clean, fresh sheets provided in wrapped plastic. Towels provided for every room and bathroom. Quite neighborhood. Only recommendation is there was limited cooking utensils. Plenty of plates and silverware to go around. Over all I give it a 10/10 and would defiantly rent this property again in the future!

Nice house with lots of room. Kitchen and bonus kitchenette, which was nice since we had six adults and three kids. Quite a hilly area but the house was situated nicely.

This home had SO much space for the reunion of my family members. It is also very well stocked as far as pots, pans and anything you need in the kitchen (aside from food & pantry items). We were there during very hot weather so we didn’t get to take advantage of all the amenities this house had to offer (fire pit, cornhole). We did, however, truly enjoy the pool table and overall layout of the house. The ONLY questionable thing to mention is that the home has 3 great levels and 1 thermostat .. the 3rd floor was a bit warmer and the basement area was chilly; just a heads up.
