We just finished a wonderful stay at this Highlands cabin. It was perfect for our group of 10 adults and pups. The lake was peaceful, and being only five minutes from downtown made everything easy. The house was comfortable and ideal for our group. The open living and kitchen area gave us plenty of space to relax while feeling cozy. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the spacious dining area with lake views accommodated everyone. We played pool, shuffleboard, cards, and other games all week and kept a fire going. The bedroom layout worked well. The main house had three bedrooms, and the bunk house was a bonus, offering extra space, a roomy living area, and a private deck.We spent time outside, even though it was cold for Floridians like us. We enjoyed the covered porch with water views and listened to the dam. Evenings by the lakeside firepit were a highlight, and the dock, kayaks, and paddleboards made it easy to get on the lake. Our pups loved the fenced yard.We couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax, and we hope to come back in the summer or fall. Be sure to hike Sunset and Sunrise Rock, Ranger Falls, Dry Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. Snow tubing and the Scaly Mountain Screamer (Mountain Coaster) at Highlands Outpost were fun. Grab dinner at Highlands Smokehouse or Highlands Pizza Place.

Beautiful setting with all the items to enjoy the lake! House is perfect with open kitchen with living room for everyone to be together. Nice porch and dock looking onto the lake. Great for mornings and afternoons! We took the canoe out on the lake. So pretty and relaxing. House is close to town and On the Veranda restaurant. Only downside is the road noise.

We really enjoyed staying at this beautiful, well decorated home. The views were beyond stunning, especially in the morning and evening. My kids loved playing on the dock and even went for a paddle, brrr! It's so very spacious with tons of seating. It was really too big for our family of five, we didn't even use the smaller cottage. The views from the dining area were breathtaking. We really enjoyed the fire pit as well. We would definitely stay again!

I had a large group of friends split between two houses. We had the best time in the cabin. Rooms are perfect, the living area was great for all of us to watch a movie. Kitchen area was excellent. Our favorite was the fire pit and dock. We sat and enjoyed a fire listened to 70's music it was great. The cabin is clean, and easy to get to. Getting into Highlands is simple and fast. We hope to return next year.

Overall we loved the place. In particular, being truly right on the lake, with deck, dock, kayaks, boards well placed. The fire pit and big den were appreciated. Disappointing issues: staircase railing was unstable and grandma nearly tumbled down the stairs as a result. A cable tie was in place but maybe only compounded the problem: was it meant to hold the rail in place to its mount (it didnt), or just act as a flag (it didnt)? please fix and consider adjusting the charges. The master BR (ground floor) was musty, maybe thats why it had multiple fans. Moved the rug out (sorry we forget to replace it) but no better. ALso would have appreciated an explicit heads-up that the property is on a busy road/hwy. Kitchen needs bigger pots/pans, baking dishes, cookie sheets, rubber spatula. We are trying to be constructive here and if needed we could edit this before it goes public. thank you!

We nicknamed the trip “the boat trip without the boat”. The water view is amazing and we spent time outside everyday! Highlands is a charming town and great for hiking. We would visit the Highlands again!

4 adults, 3 teens, 1 golden retriever made full use of this property on the lake. House and adjoining cabin for the teens was great. Lake is beautiful, used the kayaks and SUPs. Close to downtown and hikes. Only negative is that it is right on a busy road so you cannot walk anywhere from the property and must be hyper alert that all gates are locked so dog does not get out. We really did enjoy our stay!

Main house was very clean needs a few repairs of cabinets and master shower leak. Bunk house was not clean at all dog hair and a vape on the floor. Loved the location and space and time on a peaceful lake with fishing and kayaking. Would definitely come back again.
