The property is very nice and has everything you could possibly need. All the instructions/requests from the owner are very clear and reasonable. The owners even let us know when the utility company had a planned internet maintenance outage (which was no problem at all). We did have something weird happen where we left with all the doors locked and returned to two doors being unlocked. Conversely, on another occasion, we left the door unlocked while we stepped down to visit a relative that lived down the road. Our teenage kids walked back to the property and they were locked out of the house for a half hour until the adults got home. We reached out to the owner about the latter, as we were questioning our sanity, and the owner had come by the house to do some gardening outside and it was an honest mistake. We really appreciated the easy communication with the owner to clear that up. Cell service in the area is very limited, but if you enable Wi-Fi calling on your phone, then it's no problem at the house.
Andy was wonderful to work with. He was very responsive. His home is lovely and was in a great location to enjoy the mountains and the nearby towns.
The five of us stayed at Andy’s property for four days and had a great time! Andy’s property is very clean, has everything you’ll need, nice views, and plenty of room for sledding. It is also nearby Woodstock, cool farms, and coffee places. Will come back!
We thoroughly enjoyed Andrew's home. It was conveniently located to go ski at several mountains, and it is also close to nearby Woodstock, Queechee, and Hanover for those who do not wish to ski during the day. Thank you for a great trip!
My parents and best friend flew up from GA to experience a New England Christmas and it was one for the books. There was lots of snow (which we loved) and the property and area was beautiful! Far enough away, but close enough to everything. Hosts were very accessible. Great location!
My family and I stayed here while we visited from out of state to attend a wedding. This property was absolutely perfect! It’s very nicely furnished and super clean. The yard is also gorgeous. Great communication from the host- if you’re looking for a place to stay in Barnard, I highly recommend staying here!
We recently stayed here as a family of 4 (all adults). The home was so comfortable, extremely clean and perfectly laid out with 3 spacious bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. It is very nicely furnished and had everything we needed during our stay. We enjoyed eating on the patio and game night in the dining room. (There is also a great game table/kid area in the living room). There is a small general store a couple of minutes down the road, along with a lake for swimming and kayaking. We spent an enjoyable afternoon visiting downtown Woodstock and took the 45 minute drive to Killington to ride the mountain coaster, gondola and zip line. Queechee Gorge is also a short 20 minute ride and was a nice hike and beautiful views (you can also take a dip/swim there). The Wi-Fi in the house is fantastic, though the reception in the surrounding areas is very spotty. We chose family-friendly dining (burgers, ice cream, etc) and found many nice places about 20 to 25 minute drives from house. The area is more rural than we anticipated but we found enough to keep us entertained and we enjoyed our stay in this comfortable home!
Our 3 generation family reunion with one part of the family just down the road. Easy access to Silver Lake and close to Woodstock. We had a lovely time. An extra bonus was a well stocked game table that we all enjoyed. Love the kitchen!
My husband, myself, our two young adult sons and 3 of their friends stayed here to take in some bigger mountain skiing and snow boarding. Communication with the host is seamless, the house is immaculate, even nicer than the photos, the setting is postcard pretty and the parking easy and plentiful. We went to Sugarbush the first day (1 hour away) and Killington the next (40 minutes away). Both were AMAZING and Killington did indeed feel like the biggest ski resort on the East Coast - it's a monster and everyone was thrilled with both. The house was THE perfect spot to unwind each day, great layout for hanging out or resting. The location is fantastic, with the awesome general store a minute away that has everything you need. We wish we had more time to investigate Woodstock which is beautiful, but hopefully this will be one of many stays at this awesome property! Thanks for such a great stay and all the best in 2022! warmly, the Sciarappas
The house more than lived up to the photos and expectations. It is perfect. The kitchen is well equipped with anything you could need. The living area is comfortable and big enough to accommodate everyone. Very comfortable beds. Having an ensuite bathroom for each bedroom made getting ready a snap for everyone. The house was spotlessly clean and the heating system worked marvelously. The mud room was a bonus for changing out wet clothes and shoes and for keeping the heat in the house when people were coming and going. We came with friends - there were skiers and non-skiers and the location was ideal for both. There much to see and do nearby - Killington was 35 minute drive away; Suicide Six 20 minutes; Pico 30 minutes. The nearby towns of Quechee, Woodstock, and Windsor provided plenty to see and do for our non-skiers as well as GREAT restaurants. Snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and fat biking were available at the Woodstock Inn Nordic Center as well as at Billings Farm (well worth a visit). Communication with the home owner was easy and he was quick to respond to any inquiries we had. Loved this house and hope to come again.
