LOCATION... LOCATION... LOCATION! We choose this specific lot out of many (in 1987 when Ocean Blvd just opened to building) for the closest legal proximity to the beach (7 yds down our private boardwalk), safe swimming area, and non-crowded privacy from the commercial area, a 3/4 mile walk.

Bedroom breakdown: 1 king master BR with ocean view on main floor (other 5 BRs are upstairs) 4 Queen BRs, 3 with oceanfront view, 1 BR is without ocean view (2 have loveseats which have been also used as toddler beds, 6 twin beds in kid's room (2 sets of bunks with trundles; plus a pack-n-play for tots). Again, We are set up to very comfortably accommodate 10 adults with 2-6 children, or 12 adults. Isle of Palms now strictly enforces their CODES which limit the number of guests in all rentals. We may only exceed 16 guests for children 2 years or younger. Guests risk a fine for violating Codes. We now have a golf cart available for use by licensed drivers only, with signed waver! We pay a Professional Cleaning Company MORE than what is charged here to do the most thorough job possible. Sometimes mistakes are made. Previous guests put poorly washed utensils, glasses, etc away in cabinets, spill makeup in a closed bedroom drawer, stain multiple things. Kids leave creative things in hidden spots,... M&M Cleaning does a great job, and will come back to correct reasonable complaints. (We've had 8 cleaning companies in our 22 years renting by owner. 3 closed. 4 were fired. Their business is tougher than ours.) The outdoor areas are cleaned regularly, but not in between every weekly Summer use and will likely have sand and dirt, etc, just like a yard or any outdoor area. Grill will have a gas tank, but it is possible you will need to get a refill and/or your own charcoal.
We Highly recommend Charleston Place, the Mills House, the Dewberry Charleston, Wentworth Mansion, (and more if you ask) for white glove, daily, full staff service. Bed linens and bath towels can be provided. Sheets and towels are certainly guaranteed clean, but not free from small product stains. You may rent linens from a service if preferred, or bring your own. (Please note: there is a separate main floor master Suite NOT available for rental that will be locked off and empty for your stay, and is Not part of the 6BR/ 4.75BA . and-We also have a small oceanfront condo that sleeps up to 5 - 3/4 of a mile up the beach for small groups or additional guests, listing here is 116783. Ask about great rates and availability.)
Private chef services are available. Ask for more info. Also note: We provide a limited amount of start-up paper goods, soaps, etc. Our cleaners provide quality basic linens. Some guests prefer to bring their own for maximum comfort. Extras are also available for rent from our cleaning service, or several independent ones in the area. The full deposit will be returned if a CANCELLATION is made 90 days prior to April - Labor Day reservations. 50% will be refunded for a cancellation 45-90 days prior. 100% minus $100 handling fee will be refunded in any case, if the spot can be filled after cancellation. Off season and last minute rentals are 60/30-60 and 100%-$100 If filled. A serious threat of hurricane (actual Hurricane Warnings for the Charleston area in the next 72 hours) would constitute a 100% refund. Guests, and guests of guests, are NOT allowed to have or bring Firearms in or on this property, excepting water-guns. It is standard practice to have guests empty trash upon leaving, as they may have stinky stuff (diapers, seafood, shells...) which permeates the place when not cleaned for hours, or occasionally the next day.

The view was beautiful. It was great to be close to the beach. We had trouble with the front door. It was hard to turn the knob to get it open. The toilet in the main level master kept running after flushing. My husband had to fix several times. We didn’t get to use the golf cart u til the last day. The tvs in some rooms did not work. A great location.

There are certain requirements my family has for a beach week. Amazing ocean view. Elevator. Screened in porch with hammock. Handicapped access to bathroom, bedroom and the beach. Lots of places to lounge and read books. We celebrated my mom’s 90th birthday. She and my father both use walkers. We got 2 beach wheelchairs and took them two houses down to the wide wide flat beach access. The golf cart was a huge hit with the kids. We brought a pickleball set and the kids played in the driveway. This house, as in the description, is “well loved”. Everything functioned and when it didn’t the issue was solved promptly. We are low key and for similar prices will take a less fancy house that is oceanfront than a more updated house away from the ocean. We plan to come back next year we had so much fun. Ages: (90, 60s, 30s, 20s).

The home was 100% of the website description. Great location, very spacious, beautiful oceanfront views, with a convenient golf cart included. Our three-generation family had a wonderful time.

Wonderful property- the view from the downstairs seating area is stunning. It’s just a short walk to a beautiful beach with gentle waves and warm water. A perfect spot for small children. The house has a vintage charm with adequate seating and a big enough dining room table to accommodate 12-14 people. The screened in back porch is a great place to hang out. The golf cart was fun if a bit rusted. It is just a mile walk to a downtown coffee shop. The upstairs bedrooms were a bit dated but comfortable. Our host was very responsive. I would stay here again.

Built and furnished in the old style of beach houses of SI and IOP, this Ocean Blvd. beach house was perfect for our needs. It was warm and cozy, with the most amazing beach and ocean view imaginable. It felt like a lived-in home. The owner provided toys and games for the kids and a golf cart for the adults. A great perk for the older set was an elevator. The furniture was comfortable and inviting. We would definitely enjoy staying here again.

The location of the house was perfect like being on the quieter side of IOP. The house is a little dated, which is fine by me. a couple of the kitchen door drawers did not slide in and out very well and we had to add WD-40 to the shopping list. One blind was messed up we were able to fix it. However there was an electrical outlet hanging off the wall by the window in the front of the house which was kind of scary considering we had two 2 year olds. The dated interior and a couple little problems were small considering we love the location proximity to the beach. The fireworks are a great way to celebrate the holiday. We will probably come again.

We had a great time on our vacation! We loved the large table in the kitchen for big group meals, and the screened-in porch for evening games. The house was so close to the beach that it was simple to take things down to get set up and pop back up for a snack. The couches by the big window were a big hit for morning reading or after beach naps. We just loved the house!

Susan's description of the house was spot on. This is a well lived in family property with soul, character, and history. It reminded us of our parents place and was perfectly kitchy and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the common spaces where the family gathered for meals and games. We loved morning coffee overlooking the bay window giving us a beautify view of the ocean. The home felt a like visiting my grandmother's house. Susan was fantastic in her communication! Thank you for a memorable visit.

The very detailed listing was spot-on and extremely helpful. The place was clean and spacious with something for everyone, with multiple lovely deck and patio spaces just a quick jaunt to the water since it was right on the beach. The elevator was just what we needed for our folks and sibling with mobility issues. The golf cart was an added perk for quick rides downtown, and being just a mile from a grocery store (and 10-15 minutes from other needed places) was extremely helpful for us too. The community pool access down the street was nice for the kids who needed a break from sand and waves. The kitchen was probably the most and best equipped we've ever had when renting a beach house in SC, and we've come here frequently in the last 20+ years--no joke. We never felt crowded, inside or outside. We had family and friends, aged 9-78, who gathered for an early 55th wedding anniversary as well as a no more cancer celebration in July 2024 and this house was a perfect gathering space and respite for all--just couldn't have asked for better.
