We loved this cozy cabin. It was a wonderful place to spend a week. It has everything you need and more. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great experience in Colorado. You won’t go wrong staying here.
Family of five spent five wonderful days at this older but well maintained and nicely updated cabin. There were no issues or problems. Wi-Fi and cell service are limited but we were aware of that ahead of time. Actually was able to get the coverage we needed on the front porch. We spent one day on the train, and quite a bit of time fishing and hiking so didn’t get to spend a ton of time at the cabin. We did enjoy a fire in the fire pit a couple evenings and the kids spent a lot of time playing ping pong. We had a great time and hope to return soon.
Beautiful property and weather. It was great being off the grid for a week. Easy to find places to fish just wish we could have caught more fish but the 4 we did catch were great. We hope to stay here again next year. Thanks for great memories.
The property was clean and comfortable
My parents (75 and 73), my kids (11, 8, and 6), and I all had a wonderful time at this property! The pictures are EXACTLY how the property looks, and if anything they don’t do it justice. The whole cabin is very roomy and spread out. The river is just a short hike away and GORGEOUS. Our only complaint was that we didn’t get to stay longer! It is a bit of a drive to get to Durango (about 35 minutes or so), but the view and the solitude are worth it. There are neighbors but we never heard them at all. Will definitely be back!
Very comfortable with a great location
The property is awesome. Absolutely loved it and communication with the owner was well above 5 stars. The only complaint would be it was a tad farther away from Bayfield than we were expecting considering the description says Bayfield Home. We had plans in Durango, Cortez and Bayfield so it ended up being a bit of a drive each day but that was very minor considering the property and how special it was. I would consider this property in Vallecito and not Bayfield. I would absolutely recommend this place. Clean, well stocked, very comfortable beds and the proximity to the river was awesome. You can hear the river from the main bedroom all night.
Our second time staying here and not the last! The peacefulness of sitting outside under the trees and listening to the stream is a real joy. The short walk to trails. The short drive to the lake. The beauty of the Fall leaves and the mountains. This cabin has everything you could possibly need and more. Interaction with the owners was friendly and helpful (and prompt)! No better place to stay at Vallecito Lake!
This property was absolutely amazing!! Nestled in the San Juan forest and backing up to the Valecito creek, which you can hear running is breathtaking. Beautiful area. Beautiful cabin!! Fully furnished and exceptionally clean. Had an amazing time.
We had the most amazing time! Beautiful, quaint, clean home! Lots of space and amenities. Hosts made us feel very welcomed and made sure we had everything we needed! We will definitely be staying here again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beds and bath are comfortable and updated. The kitchen was rustic but serviceable. Loved hearing the creek at night and playing the old lps. We loved the location near hiking and fishing and didn’t mind the lack of cell service. The full sized washer/dryer and garage storage for our camp gear and bikes was extremely helpful.
