Easy stroll to the main town and beach.

This is a lovely cottage in an excellent location, in walking distance to beaches, town center, pubs. It is located next to the manor house, with a separate entrance, and is part of the historic complex. The cottage is well suited for two people. The kitchen is not modern but has all necessary equipment, the small bathroom has a modern bathtub/shower, the bedroom is small but nice. However, some refurbishment would seem adequate. Parts of the wooden interior and the window frames are in need of maintenance, and during heavy rainfall there was water ingress from two points of the ceiling.

Compact, everything you could need, great shower, most amazingly comfortable bed, huge fluffy towels, comfortable sofa table and chairs. This was our second stay and it's still one of the best in Bude, close to beach, canal, pub and town. If we get to Bude again it will definately be on our list.

My husband and I stayed here five years ago and came back to celebrate our birthdays. Gina and Jonathan are such lovely hosts and we love their cottage. It felt like we were back at home when we stayed again and had an amazing nine days. We couldn’t fault a thing and hope to return again!Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Lovely place to stay, 5 minutes walk to the local pub, plenty of places to eat. Lovely beaches to visit which were all close by. We have booked again for next year. Lots of walks close by.The owners were on hand if you needed anything, very friendly too, we had a fab stay

A perfect holiday home for two with everything we needed for our week-long stay, including on-site parking (a boon in Bude). Once through the stone pillared gateway, we felt as though we were off the beaten track … yet a few minutes got us to the canal (easy circular walk, passing through a nature reserve), the wide and sandy beaches, the Heritage Centre (free entry to museum art exhibitions cafe) and the town (cafes and independent shops galore).Our friendly hosts were on hand should we have needed them, but everything went like clockwork. The bed was super-comfy, the living room had good dining and seating areas, the kitchen had crockery and cutlery for four and the bathroom had a constant supply of hot water (we bathed; we didn’t shower). There isn’t a fenced area for a dog … but with so much dog-friendly choice on your doorstep, it didn’t present a problem. I have resolved to check for future availability of this wonderfully-located hideaway.

We were doing the SW coast path and using Bude as a base this was a first class location. The accommodation is ideal for a couple and the property owner is wonderful.

The cottage was perfect for our stay. Ideal for two, cosy and provided everything we needed. A great location to access the town, beaches and canal. The hosts were very friendly and happy to assist when needed. A great place and highly recommended.

Ideal for two people and a dog!We had 4 nights at Bay Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it.It's a cosy little place but has everything you need and is perfectly located - close to the canal, river, town centre and beach; but not too close.The hosts were superb - friendly and helpful with great communications. Check in was as easy as it gets, as was check out.The place was clean and basics, such as soap, washing up liquid and even some tea and coffee were provided. The central heating system was very effective but, while there is a nice wood-burning stove and a basket for logs, you do need to get your own if you want a fire - a few logs to get you started would have been a lovely touch. By coincidence, we met both Gina and Jon on the day we arrived. Jon mentioned some visitors had commented on the sofa needing replacement and asked our opinion. We concluded it probably does as it's a bit saggy but it was perfectly fine for our stay.Our only actual negative was the shower water temperature. While the combi-boiler did heat the water suitably, the mixer tap needs some adjustment - it's currently got too much cold mixing so it's only just about warm enough... it's sort of ok once you are in but getting in takes some building up to (a bit like getting in the sea!). under the water. I'll message Jon directly and hopefully he'll adjust it. Plenty of hot water for the bath though.The real test is whether we'd stay there again and it's a definite Yes from us!

Perfect holiday space for two people. Ideal location and private parking spot within grounds and just a short walk to the town centre. In short, everything we hope for when we book accommodation!Very happy customers!Just a footnote for any future visitors, Life's a Beach, the Olive Tree (-amazing Ploughmans) and La Bocca are the pick of the local eateries...All three outstanding.

Very enjoyable week in Bude. Bay cottage is an ideal location for the town and all it offers, the beaches, and the surrounding coast.

For a person holidaying alone, this was great. I loved the closeness to the town and the beach. And many other beautiful destinations within easy reach. The cottage had all I needed and was ideal for a cosy autumn stay. A real gem.

Bay cottage was small but clean, lighting could have been brighter in all areas and a safety handle for getting out of the shower would be good. The position of the cottage was great for visiting Bude, a short walk to town and beach and to local pub for eating out. We enjoyed our stay at Bay Cottage and would consider using again.

This was the third year in a row we've stopped at this property, it is in a superb location and is well suited for exploring the area, my only slight criticism is the property is a bit tired,

Charming and characterful, quirky and comfortable property ideal for a couple and a well behaved dog! - perfect location for Bude Town amenities yet quietly tucked away from the hustle and bustle, own parking area a big plus, lovely owners and friendly people throughout our stay
