The location was central but not truly walkable. The road and drive were dangerously steep. While the cabin was not grimy it certainly lacked attention to detail on cleaning. Tons of cobwebs inside. The fire place runs on a short timer. Not enough to heat the space at all. But the most disappointing thing of all was the missing washer and dryer. Traveling with my children for a week, with winter layers and stuff, an on site washer and dryer is a must. It’s one of the main reasons I don’t book a hotel. The listing for this cabin specifically said there was an onsite washer and dryer. I have the screenshots and pics to show. When we arrived we were upset to find otherwise. The worst part is that I’m pretty certain they do have it behind a locked door in the kitchen. They simply didn’t want it being used by guests. When I reached out to the management they told me there was a laundromat down the way. The cabin was cute and did have a great deck area.

I couldn't find the heater for the hot tub so we didn't use it. The host was very communicative. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The big thing I would suggest is to let people know that if they don't have a 4 wheel drive vehicle they won't be able to get up the drive way.

The cabin was perfect! It was clean and with a great location. The downstairs shower had great water pressure. The views sitting in the hot tub or rocking chairs were breath taking. Only concern I did not read into as well before booking was the driveway. Definitely do not rent if low sitting car. And we used our 4 wheel drive suv and still scrapped the bottom. But we mastered it by the end of the stay.

It was amazing, beautiful views. So relaxing and peaceful. Steps away from everything.

I can’t say enough about the cleanliness of the place Above the rest. The person I had to call and find out a couple of things was outstanding. The food around the little town was amazing we only ate German food all weekend and liked it just because the restaurant is off the beaten path don’t mean it’s not good. Get out and explore it was amazing and we will be back.

Very cozy!!! Beautifully designed and an amazing view of the river. The hot tubs were perfect and the beds were so comfy. Everything was very clean and well stocked. We absolutely loved the place!

The cabin was clean. We didn’t like that kitchen and family room were on separate floors. Lamp lighting would be nice. Hot tub was great!Driveway was an issue extremely steep and difficult to turn around. So steep at driveway entrance that a SUV and a sedan bottomed out. Not ideal for seniors due to number of steps and driveway.

Good communication

The cabin is perfect! Great location with an easy walk to downtown (as long as you can handle the driveway up and down since it is a pretty steep hill). The cabin was very clean and the kitchen had all the amenities. We couldn't have asked for anything more awesome!

We decided to take one vehicle because of reviews on driveway. we drove a 4 wheel drive and still had some sliding issues with back end. hard to turn around once parked in a bigger vehicle. Overall location was great but we did drive and pay for parking because of steepness of driveway. The only other issues, We couldnt get trash can to lock and we all agreed the Bedrooms need side tables with lamps

I’m not sure I noticed if the listing had a washer and dryer, but it definitely does not, which was a little disappointing. The driveway was slippery when wet which was scary since I do not have 4 wheel drive.The staff support was excellent, and the house was private and quiet. The hot tub was a bonus for sure

Great town. Lovely cabin, but be prepared to walk up and down steep hill & driveway. Recommend having a 4x4 vehicle that doesnt sit low to the ground in order to successfully make it up into the driveway. Other than that, everything was beautiful!!

Nice cabin! Clean and well supplied. Nice decor and I especially loved the extra quilts. Beds were a bit stiff for my preference, but overall good. Communications were great with daily messages to make sure everything was fine. Unfortunately the blind approach from the road and extremely steep narrow driveway will prevent us from coming back. Even with an SUV I scraped my car trying to get out onto the road.

Nice quiet location. However, you cannot walk to nearby shops and restaurants due to the steep hill cabin is on. Also it would be nice if there was a washer/dryer.

House was clean upon arrival. Pros: 1. Close to town. 2. Clean property. 3. Private hot tub.Cons:1. Missing a roll of toilet paper in upstairs bathroom (each should have 2 per listing). 2. Only 2 rocking chairs on upper deck (photo shows 4 and I had 4 people). Not sure where others were. 3. Miscommunication with listing company. Was told my credit card didn't work for final payment and asked for payment earlier than what my email had stated. Found out that the card issue was on the rental company side not mine.4. Terrible driveway - EXTREMELY STEEP. Once we got up the drive with my SUV, we NEVER drove until time to leave. Walked everywhere but the climb up the drive was horrible. I would not recommend anyone without a 4 wheel drive renting this place. Had I realized how steep the driveway was I would not have rented myself. Also, would not recommend this property for elderly or handicapped individuals due to driveway access.5. No washer or dryer within unit6. Blankets in downstairs closet just laying in floor and appeared to be used. I did not know if they had been cleaned so afraid to use them.7. Batteries in TV remotes and outdoors fans needed to be replaced as several did not work. We had to swap them around depending on what we were using (TV and outside fans)

Beautiful location close to everything. My only issue was the dip in the driveway i would definitely stay again just please bring that up so guests arent unexpectedly busting their bumper

We chose Above The Rest based on the beautiful photos online and its unbeatable location—and it did not disappoint! Just a short walk from downtown Helen, the cabin offered the perfect mix of convenience and charm. The steep driveway added a bit of a workout, but we welcomed the exercise and the views it offered.Inside, the property was spotless, cozy, and well-stocked with plenty of linens, towels, and paper products—everything we needed for a comfortable stay. After a long day of hiking, the hot tub was an absolute treat and the perfect way to unwind.The property manager checked in a couple of times during our stay, which made us feel well taken care of. Everyone we met in Helen was warm and welcoming. We had such a great experience—we're already planning our return!

Enjoyed the cabin and the convenience of shopping and restuarants.

This was such beautiful and relaxing stay! Reading in the hot tub, watching movies in the cozy den, and walking to town for dinner made this such a restful trip.

Beautiful view. Steep driveway so not great for lower vehicles. We went for a girls trip and enjoyed our stay in this cabin! Would def book again!

Great cabin with a great view! Comfy beds, very clean, and a well-equipped kitchen.Town is a short walk, but driveway is VERY steep which makes the walk a little challenging.

We loved the location, the hot tub and the property. Our only con that prevented a 5 star rating was how steep the driveway is. It’s very hard to turn around and hard to walk up.

Beautiful secluded cabin

The cabin was just what we wanted for our stay. Walking distance to everything in Helen, but tucked away as well. Super clean and everything we needed was provided. Note:

This is a wonderful property that made for a perfect family weekend trip.

We had a beautiful stay! Nice view of Helen, the mountains and trees. Jacuzzi is on the front porch and was very nice. I would just give a heads up to anyone with cars low to the ground - the driveway up is very steep and initially getting on it made my Rav-4s tires spin for a moment every time until it straightened out going up. Not sure if that could provide issues for a 2 wheel drive vehicle. Also, it's a steep walk up/down so anyone who can't walk steep hills should keep that in mind. Cabin was a perfect stay for us, we just walked downtown and back to avoid the Oktoberfest traffic!

Everything was perfect the driveway leading up to the cabin is pretty steep of you have a small car its a little challenging getting up it and maybe impossible if its wet

This place is not for the elderly unless their in great shape. Downstairs is the kitchen, dining room and 1 bedroom. Upstairs is the living room with a small refrigerator and coffee pot and 2nd bedroom. The pictures of the living room on the website are not what’s there. It is just 2 sofas and no end table or coffee table to set your drinks on. I called when we arrived to see if they could bring us some end tables or something to put drinks and etc on. I was told they didn’t have anything. My husband and I went to Ace and purchased 2 folding tables for $19.00 each. For the money you spend for this rental, you would think they would have offered to do that. My 84 year old mother had a hard time going up and downstairs if she wanted something to eat. We checked out a day early due to this. I was also surprised they didn’t have the amenities all other rentals we have been to like an ice maker or a washer and dryer.

It was the most lovely cabin I have ever seen. It was built to be appealing to eye with it handcrafted furniture that fits well the cabin theme.

Nice and quiet cabin nestled in the woods. Great location. Amenities are fine, wish they had a washer and dryer. I would recommend adding a pillow topper or buying a new mattress for the downstairs bedroom.
