Westcliffe, Colorado
Summary:
"Fifth Street" is a quintessential family-friendly and dog-friendly home with plenty of room kids playing foosball or reading downstairs or grilling on the deck while they soak up the mountain views. Reviews highlight that two bedrooms up and two bedrooms down, the convenient location to all of old town Westcliffe.
Four bedrooms with six beds, easily sleeps up to 10 guests.
The Space:
It's a tri-level home with a half level up to the main floor where the master bedroom, a second bedroom, full bath, living room and kitchen/dining room are located. Beyond the dining area is a huge deck with views of a historic school house and a 1880's Lutheran Church... with the Sangre de Cristos in the background.
Down a half floor from the entry is a garden level with two bedrooms, a wood stove, reading room, game room with a Foosball table and a sunroom equipped with a 6-person hot tub. (Access to the hot tub is $75 per day so you do have to not pay for the extra cost of a hot tub if your group are not fans of hot tubs.). While the hot tub is separated in a sun room, a few guests have reported that their allergies limited the amount of time they spend on the lower level.
From the lower level, French doors open out to a concrete patio shaded by the deck. The back yard is fenced in by a wire-grid fence designed to keep deer out and dogs in. You are welcome to let your dog run free in the back yard.
Flat panel Smart TVs are in every bedroom and the garden-level family/reading room. Lots of board games and books - travel, history, and more...
Dogs are $60 per stay with a two dog maximum. So if you are not traveling with a dog, you are not paying for the extra cleaning time. The hot tub fee is $75 per stay, so those not using the hot tub fee do are not covering for the extra maintenance cost.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire home and the backyard, which is fenced. Access to the hot tub is subject to a $75 fee. This per-stay fee includes plenty of "tubbing towels". Just download our guest experience app to opt in for hot tub or pet fee. Once approved, we will send a separate door code to provide access the the sunroom with the hot tub.

Great place , convenient , clean great views
Having bought property in the area, we stay in Westcliffe regularly to experience the mountains. This has been the best setting yet. The house is spacious and has a great view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains from the deck. The dogs next door barked a bit but they are gorgeous and real characters. I hope we can book this property the next time we visit.
We were planning to visit Westcliffe, and on the day we were to arrive, a snowstorm forced us to delay our trip by a day. Charley and Kay graciously accommodated our last minute change, and made our trip a wonderful experience! When we arrived, we found a truly charming and welcoming home to stay in, and we enjoyed every minute we were there. And the views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains off the deck are breathtaking. I wouldn’t stay in any other place if I were visiting the Wet Mountain Valley.
We enjoyed staying here very much! Charlie took of us very well - he is a great host. He would be there quickly when we needed. along with quick text info. Great! The hot tub was wonderful and house was very comfortable. Thank you!
We enjoyed renting this property very much! The house was ideal for a large family with teens. The town and location was beautiful and safe enough for the kids to walk around and enjoy the town.
Nice property with interesting eclectic interior. Kitchen was well furnished! Need to update board games available to play though! Only cleanliness issue is the smell coming out of the dishwasher is overwhelming!
302 5th Street filled our needs perfectly for our stay. It was clean, the six(6) beds were just what the doctor ordered for our group, and the location was an easy walking distance to all our in town activities.
This was a spacious property with plenty of room and an upper level deck to spend the entire day enjoying the mountain scenery. The location was excellent within walking distance of main street Westcliffe and within easy driving distance to the Sangre De Cristo mountains and numerous hiking trails. There were some minor renovation updates that were not fully complete but it had no impact on our stay or our impression of the property. Communication with the property's manager was great. One example of the great hospitality was when we first arrived. A thunderstorm had just blown through Westcliffe knocking out power to the town. We were still able to access the property and within an hour of arriving the property manager had found a way to get us candles!
Charlie the host went above and beyond to make us comfortable and welcome. There was a glitch in our booking due to a lightening strike and tech outage - not his fault - and he stepped in to ensure our stay was seamless and comfortable. Withoit his working a miracle we would’ve been high and dry for lodging during a popular music festival. He was honest, friendly and wonderful. We will stay here w/him again and encourage you to do so as well.
