The house is in a good location, however San Carlos still gets busy along that stretch at certain times of the day.we loved the modernized kitchen and bathrooms but did not like the counter top dining table - you really could not sit properly since there was no room for your legs.our favorite part of the house was the deck with the small dining table, couch and fire table. It is a lovely place to hang out, enjoy lunch or a drink in the late afternoon.

The views from the living room are especially nice. Beds are comfortable. Location is perfect for walking to the beach or town. Loved it!

Kitchen is upgraded and has all utensils, pots & pans, even spices. Master bedroom bath is upgraded, two sinks and good water pressure ! Mattress is solid without being concrete. Walking distance to town although far enough away to avoid noise and traffic. House does not have window coverings in living area which was an infrequent problem but on sunny days and evenings was a bit of an issue for a few hours. Not huge. No dining room table, but no room for one; and the photos clearly indicated no table. I used balcony table for a desk. Quick service from management company regarding internet. Would stay here again, and would stay with Sanctuary Vacation Rentals.

The updated kitchen and bathrooms were very nice and the home easily accomodated our group of 6 adults. Fabulous views of the Carmel Highlands with many windows all around.The House Manager was responsive to several small issues which were resolved immediately. Overall a great experience - this is the 3rd year we have worked with Sanctuary Vacation Rentals and we will continue to use the company as our preferred source for stays in Carmel. The Staff and the General Manager areare wonderful and very customer focused.

The location is perfect for anyone looking for quiet, walks to the beach, and lots of light. Nice for two singles or a family of four. Tight for four adults or more. A nice, downstairs guest suite provides extra privacy. Beautiful backyard, pretty to look at, less so for anything else. It worked well for two adults and a Doodle.

The location is quiet and removed from the often times congested downtown area, yet close enough to stroll into town whenever you want. I call this house “my treehouse” because the views from the living room and kitchen make me feel like I’m resting in treetops looking out over the hills in the Carmel River area. Sanctuary staff were always attentive and very helpful. The house was clean and very comfy. Can’t recommend it enough.

The downstairs was great for the kids to play while the adults could enjoy upstairs. The house was spotless on arrival and the housekeeping service was excellent for the duration. The house is about a 12-15 minute walk to Ocean Avenue or 15 minute walk to the beach (Carmel River State Beach). There is also a wonderful elementary school within a 10 minute walk with two playgrounds for children.Overall, we were thrilled with the house, the location, and overall experience. Would book again!
