This quiet sunny home has beautiful garden spaces for rest, relaxation, and entertaining. Sit on the deck with your morning coffee and watch the hummingbirds. Sit under the garden umbrella and have your lunch with friends among the flowers.

A charming house freshly renovated and surrounded by gardens inside a privacy fence is the perfect hideaway in Carmel-by-the-Sea on a quiet tree-lined street a 10 minute walk to town. All one-level inside, the house has a pleasant flow and thoughtful layout.

Living Spaces
The light filled 800 square- foot 2-bedroom, 2-bath home features a front deck and a large garden. Big windows and a high ceiling give it a spacious ambiance. There is art for your pleasure in all the rooms. There are two living rooms: One near the kitchen has a couch and two footrest/ dining trays, and faces the wall mounted TV. The other is a study or reading area with a couch that can become a twin bed and a comfortable chair with footrest.

Kitchen and Dining
Here is some information about the kitchen should you decide to eat in: It has a refrigerator, dishwasher, large pantry closet and gas stove. It is well-equipped with pots, pans and dishes you may need to prepare meals to enjoy at the adjacent dining table that easily seats four. The sink looks out on the lovely garden so cleaning up is a pleasure. Well-equipped for extended stays!

Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Bedroom #1 has a king bed with high quality linens. The en suite bathroom has a shower, vanity and storage.
A stacked washer dryer is also located in a closet between the bedroom and bathroom.
Bedroom #2 has a queen bed, closet and a bureau for additional storage.
The second full bathroom is located near the living spaces and it has a shower-over-tub.

This home sits close to another home, but feels far away and is made to feel more private with strategic fencing and window coverings.

Close to downtown Carmel, and the beach, it is also a 10-minute drive to Pebble Beach, Pacific Grove and Monterey.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum. Preference is given to small dogs. Dogs should do all potty business off property while walking in the pleasant neighborhood.

This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of our team and the homeowner. Extended stays are often possible.

It was so nice opening the front doors and extending the space to the porch and garden area and bird watching. The water heater went out the first week. The team and owners were quick to respond and get it replaced. The neighbors on the street are all friendly. Enjoyed my stay very much!

    The garden and outdoor space is outstanding. The walk up the hill is a little strenuous but will help you get your steps in. Easy drive to the center of town if you choose. Sanctuary Vacation Rentals is great to work with.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cottage is located in a quiet part of Carmel away from the commercial/tourist area. It is a short drive to the beach but a long walk. The neighborhood is sweet and there are nice walks nearby. The cottage, itself, is well equipped and comfortable and has a lovely fenced in garden, especially good if you have dogs. The owners are nice people and both they and Sanctuary Vacation Rentals were responsive and accommodating. WE stayed in the cottage for 3-1/2 months and were happy to be there. Understanding that it is not in tourist Carmel, I am happy to recommend it.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have been renting Bonne Amie in Carmel for several months after selling my house a few blocks away. It has been the perfect place for both the dogs and me. It is in a wonderful, quiet location (great private backyard and deck) in a friendly neighborhood with quick access to downtown Carnel and Highway One. The owners recently remodeled it, so everything is new and clean, with a well-outfitted kitchen for cooking. I would highly recommend this two-bedroom, two-bath home as a great pied-a-terre for a getwaway or home layover.
