Amazing location and yard

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The yard and the garden are lovely. It’s perfect for a place to stay with your pets. The house is dated, and it needs some updating, especially the living room furniture, which is Granny’s couch and not comfortable. This part of Carmel is noisier than Carmel by the sea. If the property was spruced up a little bit, we would stay again, but if not, we will be looking elsewhere. After a few days of staying in a house, that is a little bit tired and not comfortable, we were ready to leave.

Home was even prettier than pictures on site. Our pup loved the fenced yard. Everything was clean and comfortable. This location very close to great local attractions too. Staff put sofa covers on, I believe in anticipation for our stay with pet. Nice touch!

Beautiful, tranquil home and yard. Monterey cypress in the backyard and distant views of Carmel Highlands. Amazing place to stay in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Can’t wait to visit again!

Enjoyed the backyard patio by the garden

Great location, five minute drive to heart of Carmel, and tree lined streets -- if you prefer to walk. Garden House Sanctuary perfectly describes this home. The backyard is lovely, and the variety of flowering plants and roses blooming were truly enchanting and photo worthy. The home is very clean and stocked with basic items that guests need during their stay. The home works well for two couples, and the master suite has French doors that open to the backyard landscape that is as lush as the pictures. Sanctuary staff is professional and promptly responds to questions and requests, such an early check-in. Thomas and Annie helped us through a couple hiccups that were no fault of Sanctuary staff or the owner. We had a 3-day event and the home truly met all our needs and felt like we were on vacation. We all hope to return -- same time next year :) Thank you -- Thomas and Anne along with their coworkers that made our stay relaxing and enjoyable!

The beautiful property with the big fenced backyard made it really easy to stay with pets. We had small dogs and they really enjoyed running around in the yard. The house is old but it was very clean and cozy. The location was great. So close to the mail street of the town and the beach! We'll love to come back!

It’s was great!

We enjoyed our time at this house in Carmel . It is very comfortable has a nice kitchen if needed, and the garden is lovely and sunny. It is close to town and the beach. We were out golfing and sightseeing a lot, but the house was great when we were relaxing.

Lovely home and backyard. Had everything one would need. Would recommend new sofa and patio furniture, but other than that a terrific property in a quiet location.

We loved the big windows opening onto the blooming garden, and the glorious huge trees where the owls hooted. Wonderful time in Carmel.

The house and grounds were terrific. Bed linens need replacing, 2nd bedroom mattress was very uncomfortable and too old. The back patio/front walkway desperately needs to be power washed- there is a clear delineation of what is under the eaves (clean) and not (dirty!). Maybe why the check-in paperwork requested shoes be removed inside the house which we did not do because we weren't made aware of such when booking it. A few other minor cleaning issues, but we did enjoy the house and the big yard. We would rent again if the above problems are addressed.
