Beautiful spot for my wedding party to all stay at, the beach was amazing, rooms were very nicly sized with plenty of space to hang out together inside and outside, breathtaking views of the lake with massive sliding glass doors to take in the view. Easy entry to the house, host was quick to answer any questions before our check in. I never wanted to leave! I will be coming back again!

Stoney Shores Retreat is in a wonderful location-we enjoyed the view from the living room, along with a cozy fire in the fireplace. It was an enjoyable stay.

Place was great and looks just like the pictures. Super easy instructions, we didn't need to reach out the the host at all. Awesome view of the lake and shore line.

The shoreline was exactly as pictured in the listing. We came in the springtime and the view of the water was awesome from the sliding glass doors in the living room and also in one of the bedroom. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

Host was welcoming, home was clean, and comfortable, location was spectacular!

We loved the property! Gorgeous private location with beautiful beach access to the lake. We used the firepit by the lake several times...so relaxing! Kitchen was nice and spacious for prepping and cooking.

Worked great for guys golf trip up north

The property was beautiful and the home had everything we needed. It was so peaceful and inviting. Beds were comfy, kitchen was well supplied, and there was plenty of room for our group to relax.

First impressions are based upon the website, which described location to Lake Superior, square footage & layout, previous reviews.We discovered positive surprises as to the walk to the lake shore, wonderfully laid out dwelling spaces, artfully presented. To write that BJ was prompt, understanding, and helpful is inadequate. Perhaps extraordinary and warm approaches our experience. I have certain above the bar expectations & she was clearly way above.We visited & hiked Tettagouche and Split Rock State Parks, golfed at Superior National, ate at Bluefin Bay We truly had a marvelous time.

The view was spectacular, the beds were comfortable, and the WiFi was fine.However for the premium price charged, it comes with an expectation of cleanliness. It was gross. We took pictures of an area of the floor we cleaned and compared it to the rest: disgusting. The layers of dust on lights and fans was amazing. The toilets were not cleaned very well, and there was food left in the fridge that had gone bad that we had to clean out.

A beautiful property. Very private and relaxing. Easy access to everything the North Shore has to offer. Beautiful beach and views of Lake Superior. The host was very accommodating.

Had an amazing stay at this property with my family. A perfect location on the North Shore. The house has an open floor plan which was amazing and it had such a great view of Superior. The kitchen was well equipped and perfect for making our own meals. The beds were very comfortable as well. Spent a lot of time on the beach relaxing and agate hunting. Overall it was a great experience.

The setting couldn’t be more beautiful, including the grounds and winding path down to the rocky shore. We waited for a fairly calm day and had no trouble launching paddle boards, though the paddle north from black beach is a must. I concur with other reviews: this property is a strange mix of very clean floors, sinks, toilets, countertops, beds and other essentials but surprisingly grimy when it comes to shower curtains, kitchen cabinet handles, door jambs, door knobs, trim, and base molding. And yes, its well water but you still need a presentable shower curtain. At one point, I found myself cleaning because the grimy things aren’t gross, just distracting. The updates to the kitchen and baths now need updating given some disrepair - the chipped glass sink in the bathroom is downright dangerous. The beds are very comfortable, but the living room furniture is not at all. There is a great spot to pitch some tents half way down to the shore - would make for nice glamping…

House presents itself directly to the lake, which is the main draw for me. Kitchen is very functional, ample furniture, and the fire pit patio is awesome.The house added a water purifier since my last visit. That was a major upgrade and enhancement to the stay.

We arrived and had no issues checking in and gaining access to the house. The first thing we noticed was the noise of the highway. It was quite loud. As we fixed dinner the first night I found that things were not as clean as I would have preferred. There was a drawer with several hot pads in the kitchen but they were so stiff and grungy we had to wash them before we were willing to use them. Some of the kitchen drawers had crumbs in them. The cabinet under the kitchen sink would not stay closed because it was damaged. I used a wooden spoon through the handles to keep the doors from constantly swinging open into the main path throu. We discovered after filling the dishwasher that there was no dishwasher detergent in the house. A sign on the front door asked you to remove your shoes but our socks were so dirty when we got ready to go to bed we wore our shoes in the house the rest of the stay. Several things were in disrepair. The back door was missing the knob and a piece of nylon rope with a knot at each end served as the closure. A metal strip on the top deck step was very loose and several times it tripped us. The stone floor in the master bath that looked so nice in the photos was filthy and appeared to have mud in the grout. The amenities list indicated each bedroom had a fan but we never found one for the third bedroom. The beds were clean and comfortable, plenty of towels, and the outdoor spaces were lovely but I don’t believe I would recommend this unit for your stay.

The location of this property was absolutely stunning — the views were truly a highlight and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. It has a lot of potential to be a wonderful getaway spot. However, the property was let down by a number of issues that made our stay less enjoyable.There were no blinds in the bedrooms (just sheer curtains), so we were woken up very early each day with the sunrise. More concerning was the general lack of cleanliness — the space needed a deep clean, and there were bugs, cobwebs in the window screens, and visible dirt in several areas. A number of repairs were clearly overdue: the back door had no handle and the outdoor furniture was in rough shape. Additionally, the barn-style bathroom doors offered little privacy, which was uncomfortable for a shared space.With a thorough cleaning and some maintenance work, this place could be fantastic. But in its current condition, it falls short of expectations.

Very peaceful and Great yard! Let people know there is room to play croquet and bocce ball or have it for them.One thing to note was that there was no hairdryer and my hair takes a long time to dry. It does not specifically call out no hairdryer included until you see the book in the house and almost all VRBOs have them for convenience. Would have brought one had I known.Great stay!

Large private property with a huge backyard for the kids to play and a very private shoreline. The house is cozy and had everything we needed for our stay, including extra blankets for the chilly nights. Beautiful views of the lake. Perfect spot for my parents, sister and our kids to spends quality family together on the north shore.

Really enjoyed our long weekend here. Had everything we wanted: on the water, views, and privacy. The owner was very easy to work with. The property was great. And it was very close to hikes, beaches and waterfalls. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Our group of 6 friends truly enjoyed our stay at this property. Everything listed in the description was accurate. The host, Ms. Hilton, was wonderful and kind. We had clear communication throughout, and she even offered early check-in and late checkout since it was off-season and possible to accommodate.The property itself is amazing, with the highlight being the lakefront fire pit where our friends and I had a wonderful time. The first night, the view of Lake Superior under moonlight was one of the most breathtaking scenes I've seen in a long time. The house has plenty of space with a great living room perfect for gathering to play games and chat. The rooms are spacious and neat with windows providing excellent natural lighting.We did find some dog hair on one of our blankets, but this seems to have been an anomaly as everything else was exceptionally clean and tidy. There was ample parking space as well. All in all, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to stay in a private space along Lake Superior.

My husband and I spent a mid-February weekend in this fun cozy home. The views of Lake Superior are stunning! The large windows keep the Lake in view in almost every room of the house. You can even take a shower while viewing the lake. We were disappointed that the fireplace was not functioning, but the home stayed plenty warm from the furnace. We were able to stream our favorite shows on the TV. Like in previous reviews, we agree that this house could use more regular rigorous cleanings. We appreciate having our dog, so some extra dirt didn't bother us. Make sure to check with the owner if you are sensitive to fabric scents. The bedding had persistent strong fabric softener scent, which was almost too much for me.

We had wonderful sunny days which we enjoyed hiking but also relaxing back at the house with its gorgeous views of the lake -- from every single room on the lakeside of the house. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked.

Our family of 5 spent 4 nights at Stoney Shores. We enjoyed the open concept kitchen, dining and living room, where we spent all of our time together either making food, watching movies, cuddling by the fire or working on hobbies on the large butcher block counter. We ventured down to the water and outside at night to watch for shooting stars. All communications were quickly replied to and always helpful. The location was nice to be near many state parks as well. We hope to be back some day!

Quiet, cozy with beautiful views.

The highlight of this property is the location. It's close to so many great places to explore and the lot is beautiful. The view and access to the lake is unbeatable and the grounds are fantastic and well-maintained. We had some housekeeping concerns when we arrived; the property manager responded quickly and was very friendly but would obviously prefer not to start a vacation with any issues.

We had a wonderful stay for our first time on the north shore. Everything we wanted to do was an easy drive up or down 61. The property is incredible! Couldn’t ask for a better location. The sunrises over the lake were unbelievable. We had plenty of space for our four kids and us.

Private location. Lots of shoreline with water crashing on the rocks. Very peaceful. The house is a spacious open floor plan with plenty of room. We were delighted to stay at this location.

Amazing property! Beautiful home, and the view of Lake Superior is priceless. The owner immediately responded to a question we had, and she couldn’t have been nicer. We will definitely stay here again.

The cottage was very cute, with amazing views. The views of the lake changed each day and the deck was the perfect place to enjoy it. We saw eagles!
