Welcome to Historic 18 Century Charming Bungalow # 127. This cottage is listed as a National & Virginia Historic Landmark. The structure and its architecture represent that time period.

Escape & unwind from city life on a beautiful historic, 250 acre estate 20 minutes from Charlottesville! Our historic bungalow with access to a pool comfortably fits 2-4 people and is perfect for those who just want to take a step back in history and enjoy the wonder nature has to offer! For outings we are only 20 min away from Jefferson's Monticello & 35 min from James Madison’s Montpelier. Play golf 5 min away at Spring Creek Golf.
We are in the country and these are old cottages, we seasonally have lady bugs, stink bugs and wasps. We do everything to prevent them coming in the cottage. We do not give refunds however we will do our best to make your stay good.

The architecture in that period dictate that steep and stairs can be somewhat narrow and steep.
However, we have made some accommodation that you could sleep downstairs also. (As per photos) We do not give refunds however we will do our best to make your stay good.

It’s very quite and beautiful surroundings but cottage need updating and more cleanliness, our bath towels were wet and with stains on them , I had to go out and purchase new ones , dead lady bugs all over the cabin , kitchen appliances very old and smelly , fireplace worked OK some Smoke was coming inside we had to air the inside before going to sleep, you have to get your own firewood!!!! Property provided only the starter a few logs

Such a lovely getaway in the countryside. Was the perfect location for us - just far enough and yet not a long way away.

An amazing calming find outside of the city. Beautiful property, easy instructions. Due to its historic nature and age, probably not best for people with mobility issues. Enjoyable stay!

If you like the sounds of birds while you read outside under a veranda then this is the place for you. There is plenty of space around your unit so any other visitors are across a huge lawn area. The adjoining road to this property is not heavily traveled and we saw some cyclists take advantage of it on our own walk past fields of grasses and oats…The cottage layouts are comfortable and take you back to a simpler time. Bring your binoculars. In May we ate outside at the picnic table and we’re not bothered by one insect.

We loved this quaint little cottage set on a tranquil farm. Easy to get to and not far from stores and restaurants.

Fantastic little cottage on historic grounds! Nico has a great little getaway in this cottage, perfect for a couple's getaway in the country. Historic grounds with plenty of walking in the fields for the pup. Great pool for a quick dip or a refreshing afternoon. Close to restaurants, and just a short jaunt to Gordonsville and Charlottesville.

Nico, the Hosts, was great and easy to communicate with. The check in process was exellent and easy, with clear directions and instructions. The cottage was pleasant, but had a little wasps and stink bug problem, which Nico provided bug/wasp spray to help control it a bit. Location was great and peaceful, with beautiful landscape. Plenty of walking area, trails, and sight seeing for our 100 lbs Akita dog to enjoy. A couple of small towns close by with good places to eat and shop. Lots of wineries close by for tastings and just enjoying some adult time. Only true compliant was they could use some newer and better pillows and mattresses. Wasn't the worst, but an upgrade would help with a better night'sbsleep. Overall, I would recommend if you are looking for a relaxing time to get away from it all.

It was just the kind of place we expected; a place to get away for a couple days. And very nice hospitality from the host & hostess.

Beautiful cottage, nicely decorated, very clean. I loved the pool! I had it all to myself. I would give it 5 stars if the mattresses were better. I think this is a place for older people without children so comfort of the beds os important. Otherwise I would recommend to friends and would return.

We loved our stay at the bungalow. The bungalow is on an old historic farm and is very quiet. We loved going to the pool and taking walks with our dogs down the lane to see the horses. Very close drive to Monticello and for those of you who like wine there a many wineries in the area and many antique stores. Nico is very nice, he greeted us one day and we talked for a while and told us about the history of the farm. We would definitely stay again which might be soon since my wife loved the quiet and all the wineries.

Beautiful, quiet setting. The cottage was tidy and functional. Wifi worked very well. Host was easy to communicate with, as the wifi had been unplugged by the cleaning person just before we arrived. We slept downstairs as the ac upstairs was not enough to cool that room. The trundle beds downstairs were likely ok for kids or teens, but our older bodies missed our memory foam topper quite badly. We hope to stay again on another visit.
