1 Mi to Town: Chalet-Style Highlands Retreat

We had a wonderful extended family (ages 1-85) stay in this home. We loved the proximity to town, the common areas for gathering, the gas fireplace, and the ample bedrooms (with comfy beds) and bathrooms. (We even designated one bathroom into a bedroom for the one-year-old; that's how big the bathroom was!). Everything was clean and straightforward for our use. The host was very responsive. We would definitely stay in this property again.

This was a great property for our group of seven women….plenty of bedrooms and baths. House was clean, beds were comfy. We particularly enjoyed the living area as we spent a lot of time drinking coffee, laughing, and catching up by the fire. Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there and we did not get to enjoy the lovely screen porch.

The kitchen was adequately equipped. Location is very convenient to town.

Great house, beautiful location near downtown Highlands. Easy to find with adequate parking for several cars. House was clean with an nicely stocked kitchen. We were a group of 6 adults coming from multiple states, and the layout of the house was great. Beautifully decorated, screened porches. Stairs to 4 of 6 bedrooms. The only complaint is the difficulty of the driveway in the dark. We could not find a spotlight for the driveway, which is needed. The tow truck guy said he has pulled others off of the drop off. Seriously, this is our only complaint!

Overall great experience; however, the sheets had stains on them in a few rooms and the cleaning service prior to check in could have been a tad better.

We were 4 couples who have been friends for over 43 years. This was our annual gathering and a mountain trip was our choice. This Chalet was the perfect getaway. It was close to downtown Highlands to make “girls” shopping easy and great restaurants for lunch and dinner. We love grilling a meal or two and the kitchen and BBQ Grill were perfect for relaxing dinners and catching up. The kitchen is well equipped … even a wine cooler. Mornings with coffee and enjoying the beauty of the wooded location was one of our favorite things of our stay. There is both drip coffee pots as well as Keurig's in both kitchens. Parking was great for 3 trucks and a SUV…. The Host was readily available and quick to answer the few questions we had. Information for access was given in plenty of time. If we are ever back in the area … this will be our place to stay

Plenty of room. Living room/dining room and kitchen were great!Parking was a challenge. The overflow lot down below was fine, but could be a pain in the rain. A lot of moving around especially checking out.

Great property. Perfect for our large family. Very clean and great location near to town. Whether we were headed downtown pr to Dry Falls or the nature center, we were close to everything.

The accommodations were perfect to host the entire bridal party for our daughter’s wedding. The host communicated well and the house was very well stocked for whatever was needed. Location is perfect, minutes from downtown and all the things we needed to access throughout the week. Great stay, would definitely stay again!

We appreciated our stay! It was perfect for a large family since plenty of bedrooms with large beds and lots of bathrooms. The gathering places were nice, and we enjoyed the screen porches too. It was nice to have the extra parking space below for more cars too. Thank you so much.

We took our family for this three day weekend to celebrate Christmas. There were thirteen of us and everything was wonderful.

Wonderful house & location! The property manager was very responsive when we reached out. We definitely will stay here again!

Just what we needed for our large, family group. Plenty of comfortable space for everyone to gather. Beautiful porch! The owner was very responsive and helpful!

4 adult couples stayed. All had our own bathroom and nice sized bedroom. We walked to Main Street from the home twice. So close to town!! Great porch with fire pit. Would highly recommend!

Eight women age 60 to 80 spent a week in this beautiful home. Perfect location for enjoying coffee on screened porch. Accommodations were clean and our need was met.
