The Fawn House is a delightful “tiny house” in the center of a very small, private salt water beach front community, surrounded by fields, forests, a creek, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The location, half way between Sequim and Port Angeles is at the end of a county road, where the wildlife habitat provides the perfect spot for the local deer herd to congregate. They rest on the lawn outside the home and feast on the fruit trees in the autumn months. You will see the new born “Bambi” fawns bounding up and down with glee during the spring season. They love this place, so any time of year is a good time to visit the Fawn House to watch the deer and other wildlife and birds that live all around this special spot.
The private beach access trail is a hike that draws people to our location. It is a five to ten minute hike down and through the wildlife habitat conservation area which is a deep gulley down to the magical, rain forest like section of McDonnell Creek which borders our property to the east. The creek which begins up in the majestic Olympic Mountains ends here at the bottom of our beach trail. It forms a calm and quiet lagoon where birds, fish and wildlife like the busy river otter can be viewed. From there, the peaceful lagoon where the deer come to drink the fresh mountain water spills out on to the rugged, rough and rocky salt water beach strewn with driftwood and logs that the storms have brought in. Seals and a variety of sea birds can be seen as you hike the beach toward the famous Dungeness Spit to the east or toward Port Angeles to the west. You may want to just find a log to sit on and be mesmerized by the sound of the waves crashing on the shore and pulling the rocks back into the sea. The colorful ships passing through the shipping lanes between the U.S.A. and Canada are fun to see, as are the closer fishing vessels and sail boats.
If the beach trail is too difficult for some, we have easier walking trails as well where look outs provide a perfect resting spot to enjoy the fantastic view and the colorful sunsets.
The Fawn House sleeps two on the short, queen size bed in the bedroom and two more on the sleeper/sofa in the main living area. There is one bathroom having a shower with skylight overhead. The full size refrigerator, propane stove, microwave oven and small washer/dryer lend themselves to your comfortable stay. An electric fireplace adds evening ambiance and the basic cable T.V. that we offer will be there if you need a little entertainment besides the WIFI.
Linens, pillows, blankets and towels are all provided for your convenience. Dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans and kitchen utensils are there if you choose to prepare a simple meal.
It is a twenty minute drive into either of the closest towns, both of which have numerous restaurant choices and grocery stores plus gift shops and other fun things to offer. If you need basic food items or you want to choose from a great wine selection, you will want to make the quick trip to the very near, neighborhood Agnew Grocery & Feed. They offer fun things to do and see such as farm animal viewing besides good groceries.
The Olympic Discovery Trail is a mile away, where you can ride a bike through the area on what used to be the old railroad line.

The Olympic National Park is a close drive from Port Angeles, up the mountain to Hurricane Ridge where on a clear day you will see spectacular, amazing views. There are many other places to go and sites to see in the area all within about an hour’s drive, such as crystal clear Lake Crescent and Sol Duc Hot Springs. For a day long trip further west, you can drive to the temperate Hoh Rain Forest and Pacific Ocean beaches and still return back to the snug and comfy Fawn House in the evening for a good night’s peaceful sleep.

This is a beautiful location. Just a 2 minute walk to the overlook to watch the sunset over the water. The private beach was great and as promised lots of deer. The property itself was nice and just the right size for 2 people.

The place was really nice; it was clean and cozy and quiet. It was in a good location too. And the private beach access was a real treat! We watched the sunset one night and had the whole beach to ourselves. Only thing was that the shower had a maximum 10 minutes of hot water, which with 2 people after a long day of hiking was not quite enough.

Nice quality mobile home. Minor stuff: Lamp in bedroom needs repair, material for guests needs to be updated, Name and phone number for a local contact would have been appreciated

This is a nice single bedroom unit in a small, quiet retirement community. The home was clean and well stocked with everything I needed, including a comfortable bed. There are nice trails on the property grounds, including down to a private beach, providing miles of access. The beach was beautiful with incredible birding opportunities. The nearby Dungeness NWR is spectacular with amazing wildlife viewing. The home provides close access to Olympic National Park. Looking forward to visiting again.

Clean and well equipped space in a very cute little neighborhood. The deer were around each morning to greet us outside and the views of the coast and the beach trail were huge highlights. Great proximity to the Olympic National Park and Port Angeles.

We loved this little house! The location is amazing and being able to unwind and then start the next day watching the deer is so much fun. If you’re into night sky viewing or photography, this is the place to book too. The host was also really sweet when we accidentally locked ourselves out, so that meant a lot to us! Couldn’t recommend this location more!

We had an amazing time at this Vrbo! It was truly an idyllic retreat that had everything we needed. The best amenities were the view from the lookouts, the oven, and the washer dryer combo! As people who were hiking every day it came in handy when we were packing up and wanted to clean our clothes. I slept on the pullout couch while my parents slept in the bedroom. The pullout was not the most plush bed I've ever had but I had a wonderful night's rest each night. There were extra blankets and space heaters available if it got chilly. One evening I was out on the patio wrapped up in a blanket reading while watching all the deer come into the mobile home community. If we ever come back to the area we will definitely stay here again - something I've never done for a Vrbo

No check-in - just walked in and made ourselves at home. The kitchen was very well equipped and as with all trailers and boats so efficiently aranged that it was a pleasure to use. Plentiful windows (with blinds easy to open/close) and a skylight let in ample light making the little place feel more spacious and a part of the outdoors. This place was called Fawn House and indeed earns its name. The little deer and their moms visit often. There is also an eagle's nest near by. The wonders!

Easy check in and instructions. Very comfortable for 2. This is a quiet place to rest while visiting the area. We went down to the beach through the private trail. Easy hike and the beach was fun to walk along.

Loved seeing the black tailed deer around! Nice location, between Sequim and Port Angeles. The private beach access was special. We could see the eagles nest from the deck. Thank you!

Located about ten minutes outside Port Angeles in a very nicely kept tiny and modular home community steps away from Straits view as described only better. A lot of very helpful pages in guidebook about the area. Lots of effort went into it. Not a fan of VRBO app messaging function for check in or reaching host. Though it is not as bad as hotels.com app messaging non-function we used after leaving Fawn House.

Spent two days at Olympic National Park was very disappointed in Hoh rainforest waited 90 minutes to get into park at 9AM and hikes were just OK. Had much better hikes earlier in week at Rockport State Park on our way to North Cascades National Park. Our host was great Fawn House was very nice. We messed up our booking thought we had booked for three nights but had only booked for two. Host was very accommodating and understanding.

My wife and I stayed for a week and enjoyed it. The place is clean and cozy. Check-in and check-out were simple. Host was responsive when I reached out with a couple of questions. The setting was very peaceful and quiet. Private beach was great and it was nice to watch the visiting deer on the property. The central heat/air conditioning was out of order but there were space heaters and fans provided, although th weather was very temperate and comfortable while we were there. We very much enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
