Stayed Nov 6, 2025The location was great and we enjoyed our time there but we were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the property. The carpet on the stairs and upstairs was very dirty and terribly stained. There was an abundance of dead flies all over - on every window sill, tables/dressers and in the bathrooms. I only showered in one bathroom but the tub drain was very slow and we had to stand in ankle deep water. The sink drain did not work any better. Salt and pepper in the kitchen would have been nice but we found none.

Stayed Jul 19, 2025We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Musky Inn (South). Loved the property - had friendly Deer Run Resort neighbors and cannot beat the lake views from this rental. Great property for large groups who need plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. After a little bit of cleaning, the outdoor covered bar was a huge hit with my family. We also spent lots of time on the huge deck looking at the water and watching eagles fly overhead. Loved the fire pit - appreciated the nice Adirondack chairs. The only disappointment was there were no kayaks, even though the listing said “3 kayaks available for use”. Looking forward to a return trip in the future!

Stayed Dec 29, 2023Took a quick trip up north with family for New Years weekend. Snow didn’t cooperate for sledding but the house did not disappoint. We rented the south unit and the adjoining 3 bedrooms. Location was perfect for our needs. House was very clean and had all of the north woods charm we love. Each room had little added touches for a nice homey feel. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Plenty of space to spread out when we needed a little time apart and perfect space for all of us to sit around the table for a meal or to play a few games. Host was very responsive with any questions and even reached out a few times during our stay to see if we needed anything. Would definitely book again!

Stayed Jan 28, 2023It’s a big lake house with lots of rooms filled with lots of really poor beds. The floors were pretty dirty, like my socks were black from walking around. The pics show a pool table, which is actually a busted up foosball table. Kitchen was good size and plenty of refrigerator space. We stayed here in winter to go snowmobiling. The trail is right there and tons of options including the lake! In the summer I’m sure the bar would be awesome but we had no opportunity to use since it was winter.

Stayed Oct 21, 2022Great place for a big group of friends. Loads of space for all sorts of activities. We had perfect weather and spent much of our time outside, but we could all pile into the living room and watch tv, sneak away to quiet spaces to do work/yoga/read and cook for a large group in the kitchen.

Stayed Jun 12, 2021Our experience was not what we expected. Key pad number not provided, had to call owner. Not notified lake had “Swimmers Itch”. Could not utilize the beach area and 2 kids got the rash on their legs. No pots and pans to cook with. Place was not cleaned very well, lots of spiders, dead flies and dust. The floors were filthy and if you walked barefoot your feet were black. Squeaky upstairs floors, one shower did not work and tubs did not drain. Kids found glass pieces and a rusty nail in the sand by the swing set. Check out time was confusing one site said 10 am and another said 9am. Will not be back.
