A storybook setting on a wooded hill, this two story timber house with a walk out ‘kid’s zone’ basement living and sleeping area, is the perfect setting to get away from it all. Walking distance from Bass Lake (an all sport lake) and less than a mile to three Lake Michigan public access parks or beaches make this the ideal location for a family get away. There are four upstairs bedrooms, one first floor bedroom and an open children’s bedroom in the basement level soit will sleep a total of 16 people. There is a full bathroom available on every floor of our home one which has a tub w/shower.

The ten foot wide wrap around porch is an ideal place to sit on the swing or one of the many chairs to enjoy the morning coffee or to sit in the breeze and talk with family and friends. This is a very private setting and yet has all the amenities; cable TV, internet, landline phone service, pure reverse osmosis drinking water and full house water filtering system, microwave, new glass top stove, and washer and dryer.
The kids will love the ‘kid zone’ living area .with their own TV and DVD. The whole family will enjoy evenings in the walkout screen porch on the lower level overlooking the fire pit area. The open concept living room, dining room and kitchen are ideal for entertaining. The classy antique décor of the timber house is delightful. Everything you need to enjoy your stay is available for you. A toaster, microwave, coffee maker, electronic tea pot, dishwasher, all dishes and pans, all linens and towels are available for your use. There is parking for two cars at the house and parking at the bottom of the hill for five more for your toys or cars, with total parking for 6-8 vehicles.

Whether it is walking the wooded trails behind the home, visiting the popular shopping and dining areas of Pentwater (five miles) and Ludington (10 miles), enjoying Silver Lake State Park (17 miles), or just relaxing on the porch on the wooded hilltop, everything for your family dream vacation is within reach.

Three must-dos before you leave:
-Visit the Bortel's Fishery (1 mile North on Lakeshore) where they fry their fresh fish and fries while you wait. Have a picnic on their front lawn or across the street at the park which includes a Lake Michigan beach.
-Take the kids to Pentwater to the Mears State Park where they have a nice snack/souvenir shop and playground for the kids. And for bigger kids, they also rent paddle boards.
-Go to Antler Bar and Grill for the Thursday and Friday night musical Bingo or Musical Trivia game times. Usually they start at 7:30PM and we always love their ocean perch dinners!!

This is an amazing place! Our 6 grown children and their spouses and children, all vacationed up here with us and we loved the space! We did a camp fire one night and played games every evening! We had everything we needed to cook our meals. We would recommend this place for others!

Adorable lodge that is wonderfully decorated in “Americana cottage”. Wooded location on a hill. Very spacious with big bedrooms and bathrooms. Wrap around porch and a cosy basement playroom/hideaway for the grandkids. We really didn’t want to leave!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The property was as described and fit our family perfectly. We will definitely choose this property again if we stay in Pentwater for another vacation.

This is a nice property for a lot of people. After we put the children in bed for the night we needed to be very quiet. Sound carries up & down through the floors & ceiling. If you don't have this scenario, it's not a problem. But it was for us. Very nicely stocked. Private, great porch & quiet outside.

The lodge is beautiful and very well stocked. We had a fantastic time. I only gave the rating of OK to check in process and cleanliness of the property, because we had a difficult time getting the door opened and the basement porch is very unkempt. Otherwise, everything was in tip-top shape.

The house was great with lots of room for family to be together but also have their own space. The wrap around porch with lots of seating was a highlight for many! The “yard” Is minimal beyond the fire pit but we were able to go to Lake Michigan each day for kids to run some energy out!

Very clean cabin with all you need for a comfortable stay. Lots of beds to choose from and the 3 bathrooms were just what we needed for our group of 8. (You just need to space out your showers as the hot water ran out.) We loved reading the history of the place and appreciated the wall hangings, photos, and furniture there. Jim and his family did great job fixing up the place!

The house is great in every way. We ate every meal out on the wrap around porch. So close to Lake Michigan at both Pentwater and Ludington. Some golfed. Some shopped. Played corn hole. We took our own. All went to the Lake Michigan beach at the hidden gem of a small township park just five minutes away by car. We all ate too much! Want to do it again!!

Our family all got together for a vacation in Michigan and chose this property to rent. The owner was responsive to questions, and the cabin was perfect for us. We did fires in the firepit making smores, caught fish in Lake Michigan and grilled them on the grill, cooked other meals, did the local attractions. The beaches in the area are great, there's plenty to do within a one to two hour radius of this massive cabin. 10/10, would recommend.

The house is located with easy access to Pentwater and close to the highway when you want to explore a little further. The house was perfect for us with bedrooms / bath on each of the three levels. Kitchen was well supplied and the wrap-around porch was maybe the favorite spot! But the best part of all was the ease of communication with the host. We had the access information a few days ahead of time just as we had been advised. It was reassuring to know that we were clearly all set before even leaving home. (that hasn't always happened in the past) Had a couple minor issues come up while we were there and Jim was easy to reach and pleasant to speak to. Definitely recommend!!
