The Townsman: Faulkner Room

The Faulkner Room, located on the third floor and is alley-facing, blends modern touches with the atmosphere of a more romantic era. Staying here is like settling into a private sitting room filled with literary ramblings and evening plans.

This sentimentally styled roomis situated in Townsman Hotel. It is unlike your typical hotel. That's why we call it the 'unhotel'. Poised just above or in the middle of Charlottesville's bustling and historical Downtown Mall or the walking mall packed with restaurants, bars, shops, and more. It is in between Mudhouse Coffee and Rockfish Brewing Company, with no staff and no front desk, which feels like a well-kept secret right in the center of all the action. Once you book with us, a personal code will be provided for access and all you have to do is show up. No check-in. No hassles.

Like most charming, older buildings, The Townsman is not equipped with an elevator. All of the rooms require access via stairs. Please be mindful that this is a downtown urban pedestrian area with all of the excitement and nuances of a downtown location.
