Stayed Feb 11, 2026The staff were all friendly, helpful, flexible and accommodating. Very good. Accommodation and facilities basic but exactly as expected and advertised: it's terrific and rare to have that clarity up front. (That means the out-of-5 ratings reflect that expectation, as opposed to Claridges.)

Stayed Feb 10, 2026The hotel was a friendly, welcoming, and conveniently accessible base to make most parts of central Taunton well within easy walking distance. There were all sorts of urban facilities nearby, including several places to eat, drink and shop. The accommodation itself seemed to have been recently refurbished or modernised, so all the room furnishings and fittings were clean and new. My stay there was entirely satisfactory and enjoyable.

Stayed May 16, 2025The room was simple but very comfortable, and the bathroom had a bath, which is unusual for a small single room! I was made to feel very welcome. The room was on the ground floor with its windows right next to the busy street pavement, and as it was warm I had to open the windows. This made it rather noisy, but that couldn't be helped! Fortunately, it cooled down when darkness fell, so I didn't have to have the windows open all night.
