Good communication. with front desk: ask for guest suggestions as they work on improvements. Great location for the BoardWalk and Beach

The property is well-situated, adjacent to the Santa Cruz beaches and a short drive to downtown Santa Cruz. It is clean, the beds are comfortable and the in-room refrigerator and coffee maker are nice. However, there are several key improvements needed:- in-room storage closets, bureaus - the hanger bar is pitiful.- more towels: two towels for a two-room suite is not sufficient and reception closes at 10:00.- longer hours for the lobby refreshment shop and/or a vending machine; closing a 10:00 PM is unacceptable.

Our family had a good time, because we can make anything work. But the property was a bit grimy. Our room, however, was clean and the property management (when present) was kind.

Our room really needs to be updated. There were a few holes in the wall, and the bathroom tub was not in good condition. Sheets were old and had some spots on them. No room in the parking area for our car on 6/7-had to go find parking on a street nearby. Good location. Easy to find food in the area.

We had a nice stay at the Surf City Inn. The room was clean, we got to check in earlier than expected. The. Indoor pool & jacuzzi was nice and clean. I was confused on using the kiosk while checking out. I would have preferred to chat with someone at the front desk.

I wish I would have paid more attention when I selected this property. It was billed as a house at first but is really a Motel. A suite for me is a living room and a bedroom, this had one of the two bedrooms in the living room. There was no closed in the 2nd bedroom. There was only short hanger that you were able to put cloth hangers on. The indoor pool smelled horribly of chlorine and I never did go for a swim. They do have a nice outdoor seating area with mini golf and one other game. Another outdoor seating area outside the main check in building. And since we were on the first floor we got to listen to the kids above us run around all night. Like a herd of elephants. We had dogs with us and there is a little park next to the Motel that you can take them if they need to go. A lot of homeless people in Santa Cruz but it did not spill over to the Motel. I think I'll spend a little more the next time for a nice rental house.

The location was a 8-minute walk to the boardwalk which was nice, the bed, wifi and TV were fine. The pool was indoors, filled with screaming children and honestly looked pretty gross. The lobby appeared to be in state of remodeling and was closed at night, so there was no access to the lobby bathroom. The sign to the motel was covered in cobwebs. The outdoor seating area was in the parking lot or on the street. We were only there for one night and didn't spend much time at the motel so overall it was OK since it was close to the Boardwalk.

Room was clean, roomy, more than adequate for 4 people, our 2 boys shared the king bed in the front room. The smaller private room has a full closet, queen bed and cable tv on a big screen. Mini-fridge was actually cold!! All the beds were comfortable and you cannot beat the location, we walked to the boardwalk and wharf daily! Indoor heated pool and spa! Nice place, quiet and in the best location for tourists activities. We would stay again.
