Stayed May 20, 2023Property listed as totally private guest house but is really a basement with other renters living above which you can hear. No heat except 2 portable heaters, shower curtain liner covered in mold and mildew. Not horrible, but certainly not worth $300/night.

Stayed Oct 29, 2021The guest house was clean and had everything we needed. Very quiet, cozy space for our weekend visit to Highlands. Carole was great about communication and was accommodating when we had requests. If the weather had been better, we could have walked to the plaza and downtown but the drive was short and parking was easy to find.

Stayed Jul 29, 2019Porch is lovely. Good location. Property is attached to another home which I do not like. No window curtains so felt a little uncomfortable and light came in the bedroom in the morning. It is decorated modern, but very uncomfortable furniture. If you have to work on a computer as I did, there is no place except the kitchen island and stools were too high.

Stayed Apr 6, 2026Carole was a great host and very helpful. It was our first time to stay “outside” of downtown Highlands but it was only a mile way. The weather was just right to enjoy the new fire pit outside as well as the fireplace in the living room (with wood and fire starter ready to light!).We had every thing we needed for eating in when we weren’t enjoying all of the incredible dining options nearby. It’s a little tricky if you want to walk into town but we found 2 options:Maney Rd directly across Hwy 28 or via a short trail at the end of Williamsburg Ct. in the adjacent neighborhood. We will definitely consider Carole’s place the next time we visit Highlands!

Stayed Dec 29, 2025An exceptional apartment in an exceptional location! Before our arrival, the host added an additional heater to the house because temps were going to be in the low teens. Also, the wood burning indoor fireplace was an added bonus! Loved everything about the amenities and the proximity to downtown.

Stayed Nov 6, 2025We lacked for nothing. We were very close to town and some great trails. The back porch was so nice and the inside fireplace was perfect. We would highly recommend for two people

Stayed Oct 26, 2025The host was excellent at communication and very helpful. The location is very central and the space is on the smaller side but if the weather cooperates, the outside space compensates!

Stayed Oct 24, 2025Carole was extremely communicative and called when I wasn't able to find the check-in information. The space was cozy and we definitely used the fireplace! The kitchen was well stocked for basic cooking, and everything was clean. We wold definitely come back!

Stayed Oct 14, 2025Very convenient location. The “cottage” is actually the basement of a house, but it was private. It could really use some TLC,a thorough cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. It has a very damp, musty smell. On the positive side it does take pets and is convenience to town is great.

Stayed Aug 1, 2025This property was perfect for my husband and me. We also brought our small dog with us. The weather did not cooperate with us, but we took advantage of the large screened in porch and enjoyed breakfast and coffee in the mornings and cocktails in the late afternoon. The Highlands has wonderful restaurants, so make sure you visit them during your stay. Carole the host was wonderful and answered any questions we had. She made sure to inform us about the area and things to do.

Stayed Apr 24, 2025This property was perfect for a couple's weekend getaway to Highlands. It was close and easy to get to town. The property was nicely appointed for our stay. The screened in porch was our favorite feature, which included a sitting area as well as a dining table.

Stayed Apr 3, 2025The guest house is conveniently located, not far from town. Has a wood burning fireplace which is very cosy. I did not realize it is actually the downstairs/basement of a larger home. It could use a spring refresh, the toilet seat is very loose, there is a water leak stain in the ceiling, and some holes in the walls. The kitchen trash still had the past guests trash and food in it. Bedroom ceiling fan light does not work.

Stayed Nov 15, 2024The home was in a quiet neighborhood with a circular road that allowed for walking. We took our dog with us and she loved it! The cottage was perfect for two people and a large dog. We enjoyed the nearby dining and shopping and hanging out by the fireplace. It was too chilly to use the outdoor fire pit but would be great in milder weather. The screen porch has a lot of seating also. So perfect !

Stayed Nov 8, 2024This Highlands home was perfect for our weekend at the Food and Wine Festival:) Such a beautiful and cozy mountain home in a quiet neighborhood! Carole was super responsive if we needed anything at all, which we didn’t, but she checked on us to make sure everything was good. We will definitely be back here, and also check out Carole’s other listings!
