Stayed Feb 23, 2024A few minutes walk away from the Hawthorn Theatre where I attended a concert. Felt safe and was pretty quiet for all the traffic that comes by. Be prepared to lug your items in unless you paid for driveway parking. The space is small and cozy, perfect for one or two people. I wish there was a microwave, but that may just be my laziness talking because the toaster oven did well for most things. The only thing slightly confusing is the tub being listed as a hot tub. It explains it in the papers sent, but it's still kinda confusing when you go to look at your reservation on Vrbo and see hot tub and think oh, I didn't remember that! How exciting!, then get disappointed. Maybe it's my short memory span though.

Stayed Apr 9, 2026Property was clean and cozy. It was great for my wife and I's first trip to Portland. The property is ideally located in the Hawthorne district with plenty of options for immediate access to food and shops. We loved the real life plants inside the cabin.

Stayed Sep 15, 2025Beautiful property in a great location! The inside is whimsical and cozy, with beautiful houseplants plants everywhere!. My husband kept saying he could see himself living there. The sculptures outside gave an added flare of cool. If you like edgy art and cottagecore style, this is your spot.

Stayed Jul 18, 2025While cozy and cute, it was dusty and musty, had many cob and spider webs, stained hand towels (found a dead insect inside washcloth) and an unclean bath mat. Surprisingly quiet with the busy street.

Stayed Jul 14, 2025Very easy access to the Magic Barn. Was surprised to find that a “hot tub” meant a bathtub with running hot water. Lock on the sliding door stopped working when trying to lock from the outside. Cobwebs hanging off ceiling and plants everywhere! But otherwise cozy, close to grocery and thrift stores. On a VERY busy street but when I closed my eyes the noise sounded more like wind than traffic.

Stayed Jun 5, 2025Everything was “magical” during my stay here. My only complaint was the water pressure was so low, and the shower liners kind of crowd you when you’re showering in the claw tub. Other than that, it was great and 10/10 would recommend and stay here again. The lighting at night with the chandeliers while reading was my favorite.

Stayed Nov 26, 2024The property was great, secure and thoughtful with everything they provide, the tub was very nice and the pothos plants and monstera plant was so cool! Definitely would recommend this property to friends and family. Only thing that we didn’t like was the mattress was not comfortable and woken up very early by a very loud dog barking at a nearby neighbors house.

Stayed Oct 2, 2024I was so excited to come to the barn. Not only was checking in confusing, the property manger took I think 3 days to get back to me. The water was cold- and very hard to get hot water. The bed was so uncomfortable and lumpy. The garden was dirty. They had a party staying in the main house. The coffee and fireplace was nice. The place could be chraming if they did a deep cleaning of it and actually care about it.

Stayed Aug 5, 2024The place was great, except for too-too soft couch. . . the bath tub was lovely. My c/o is that the code to open the gate to the property was not posted anywhere in 'the welcome' packet. . ..I called the onset manager who was prompt, gave me the code, we both looked @ my emails = no code. He just kept saying 'this has never happened before' which I did not find helpful
