Stayed Oct 22, 2025Clean, cozy and beautifully decorated. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Extra blankets, firewood and board games. Small extra touches, like a welcome gift, tea and coffee, candy and maps of local attractions. The only drawback is that the loft ceiling is so low that you cannot stand up, and that's where the bedroom is, so no unpacking my suitcase. We were very comfortable and felt welcome :)

Stayed Oct 6, 2025This bunk house is lovely and was very clean. Nicely equipped. Check-in was seamless. Easy in and out. Very quiet and enjoyable farm setting. The location was out of town a ways which we had not expected, but we did not check that as closely as we could have. The only less desirable aspect was that the beds (3) were in the loft which had a very low ceiling. One must walk stooped over to get to the beds. More than once we bumped our heads on the ceiling. There was one queen bed and two twin beds. The queen bed was comfortable. The bedding was nice and more than adequate.

Stayed Aug 22, 2025This quaint little retreat is exactly as pictured! Andrea and Sheldon are wonderful hosts and thought of everything you didn't know you needed for your stay - including board games, an umbrella and even a blanket on the outdoor couch for chilly nights while using the fire pit - which they also provided the fire wood. The place was very clean. We enjoyed all the animals as well. We highly recommend the Country School Guesthouse for your next stay in the Lanesboro area.

We look forward to our next visit!

Stayed Jul 19, 2025We loved everything about our stay here. My sister and I grew up in rural Iowa as kids and have been city people for many years now. We wanted a rural experience. The country side was beautiful. The quest house was wonderful. An Amish neighbor had finished the interior, and it could not have been more charming or functional. We especially enjoyed the fire pit on the back patio and the rescue animals they keep. Sheldon and Andera were so friendly and accommodating, but yet respected our privacy.

Stayed Jun 22, 2025We had an incredibly peaceful stay in a delightful place which included everything we could ask for. We enjoyed our visit with Andrea and Sheldon, and they were very responsive to any questions that we had. The weather was not very cooperative for us, but we were still able to enjoy the outdoors sitting sheltered from the rain on the patio.

Stayed Oct 24, 2024The property was a charming bunkhouse on a small farm. It was immaculately clean and so cleverly decorated for the Amish area without going overboard. The owners take care of rescue animals. We enjoyed interacting with the animals and the owners. The rental was a short drive to small towns that were fun to explore. A very relaxing long weekend in the beautiful countryside of the bluff country.

Stayed Oct 4, 2024We loved the farm environment, cozy bunk house, and warm hospitality. Though we were looking for just a place to stay, this also served as our entertainment (because we love relaxing outside and adore animals). The bunk house was clean, set up perfectly, and had many more amenities than we ever would’ve expected. We will be back!

Stayed Sep 16, 2024My husband and I stayed at The Country School Bunk House for 2 nights and 3 days. Andrea and Sheldon were great hosts and the Bunk House was comfortable and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. We enjoyed visiting with Kadi their dog, their donkey, pony, and chickens. While here we went to Niagara Cave in Harmony, we biked the Root River State bike trail and hiked Mystery Cave State Park. We also went to an Amish farmers market. We had a great time and plan to visit this area again.
