Root River Valley Cabin ~ Lanesboro, MN

Spacious log cabin in a great location.

This house is probably better in person than in the photos. Rooms are generous size. Kitchen is well equipped. It’s about 2.5 miles outside Lanesboro, which was perfect for us. Great outdoor spaces that we didn’t use,but just due to time of year. We would stay here again without hesitation.

This was a beautiful property that had everything we needed! For bikers you’re right next to the bike trail with just a short little trip down the hill. Though we did not meet the owners, they seemed to be lovely people and responded to any emails we sent prior to and during our arrival. We can’t wait to go back to this property again someday.

Its a beautiful peaceful place to spend time in the Lanesboro area. So comfortable and spacious. Loved the furnishings and the porch area. Thank you for providing a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommended.

Excellent location:QuietGreat access to bike trail

This house was amazing. Everything worked on it. The beds were exactly what was written in the description and I have had other houses where they say they have beds but then you end up with a futon, but this place was excellent. Beautiful everything worked. It was nice location. It worked out the only thing I don’t wanna say is I don’t want anybody else to use it cause I wanna use it when I come back.

Such a fun place to stay. We enjoyed our time, and we really enjoyed the covered patio with the hanging chairs!

GREAT place, very peaceful

Cabin was comfortable and as described. Recycling was left in the kitchen upon check-in and some minor deep cleaning issues (like interior cob webs and fridge crumbs), but it didn’t prevent us from enjoying our stay.

The house was very nice and we would stay again it worked for us. I only issue we had was that the house is listed as a 4 bedroom. But there is actually 2 bedrooms with doors. The 3rd bedroom is a bed against the wall in the family room door stair. The 3rd bedroom is in the loft which is open to everyone on the main level. If you are trying to sleep and others are watching TV or talking it's kind of tough. No privacy in the 2 rooms, if that is what you want. Renee tells you her book to be careful on deck when it is wet because it is slippery. She was correct it rain one night, I slipped and fell flat on my back, be careful.

Log Cabin was in excellent condition and clean. Went into both Preston and Lanesboro close by to enjoy the quaint shops there. The five of us had a great time the two days we were there!

The cabin was spacious and clean. All amenities were great and it’s nice that’s it’s so close to the bike trail!

Great place to gather for a get-a-way with friends.

This place was lovely, and well-suited for our girls weekend. We loved the comfy beds, the stocked kitchen, the fireplace, and the wonderful balcony. We share many memories and would love to visit again. The photos do not do this place justice!

The cabin was beautiful. We stayed in late December during a blizzard -- the cabin was cozy and we felt like we were in a Hallmark movie.

Another great stay in Lanesboro! 3rd year, cabin is so nice, and so close to Lanesboro. Will be heading back again next year!

Great location and beautiful home

Pros: easy access to the bike trail, prompt responses from hosts.Cons: this is a two bedroom cabin, not four. Only two bedrooms have doors; the other two beds are in a loft and the basement family room, so not private.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was spacious, comfortable, cozy, and quiet. We loved the proximity to the trail, too. The only thing we were surprised about was that there weren’t any window treatments in the bedrooms.

What a beautiful home nestled in the woods so peaceful cousins get away we had fun shopping local Amish farms and Lanesboro will have to put some trash bags we could not find any

We stayed in a lovely log cabin, 3 miles out of Lanesboro. The inside was also beautiful! I hope we have the opportunity to stay there again.

beautiful place! highly recommend for your quiet and relaxing vacation

Lovely, casual setting suited us perfectly for a 3-night stay with day bike rides on the Root River Trail. We did not do any cooking. Beds were comfortable, nice towels, shower soaps & shampoo provided and the place was clean. Seating on the deck and patio were private. Small firepit, lots of cut wood and star gazing our last night was a great way to unwind!

Wonderful cabin on Root River Bike trail! We loved the space and location! So cozy and quiet for our family weekend! My favorite was reading on the porch while sitting in the hanging swing!

We thoroughly enjoyed the calm, quiet, secluded location. Very comfortable home, and well stocked with essentials.

Cabin was VERY nice and clean, spacious. Hosts were very attentive to our messages. We would give 4.5 (but that was not an option, so we gave 4) only because access to the trail was not as easy as we thought it would be based on the online description. We just rode to different towns or other access points each day we were there. Lanesbor was a quick 5-10 min drive away.

The living area and 2 patios are so welcoming. It fit our family’s needs perfectly!

A wonderful weekend with friends. Cabin had great access to the Root River trail. Loved the outdoor porch with swings to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Very clean and a wonderful kitchen.

Location and home were excellent, however it needs much better lighting in the living room. We all used our headlamps to read!Overhead cams in the kitchen were burned out as well. We had to run out early Saturday morning to buy toilet paper. Porch furniture needed to be cleaned. We washed the table and chairs so we could use them.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for the five of us. While we knew it was close to the trail; the access was a nice surprise. The covered porch was a great spot to relax.

We enjoyed staying here to fish the beautiful streams of the Driftless area. It was a nice quiet location still close to Lanesboro.

We decided to get away and take a short trip in the Root River area. This cabin came up and we decide to get something with a fully functioning kitchen (we have dietary issues). A nice quiet location, which we enjoyed.

The house was perfect for our group! Plenty of space to hang out together and space to get away. The house had everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable getaway!

Very beautiful clean house. To sleep 6 or 8 should be family

Three of us stayed here last February. Enjoyed it so much came back with two of our friends. As like February our stay was wonderful. We were able to take nice walks as the weather was perfect. The house is very well stocked. Only other comment is the pictures on the website needs to be updated. Would most definitely stay again if we get down this way again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It had access to the Root River trail, which high on our wish list for this trip. We all slept comfortably and enjoyed to shared spaces together. We were surprised there were no blinds in the home, which was not a problem for anyone but the young children needing to nap in the middle of the day.
