Stayed Jun 12, 2022The town is beautiful and hospitable. I stayed there for week in June and there was no hassle parking on any street, always available spots in the center, nice places to eat and shopping for little things and food. There are many great beaches around and many villages to visit. Apartment is located at the village main square and is nicely appointed, clean and has all amenities. I loved it all during every hour I was there, except between 11 pm -3 am every day of the week as it is not for average travelers who looks to rest at night. There are two bars next to the building that have outdoor DJ and loudspeakers playing music. I had to watch lots of Netflix movies till 3 am on my computer that I could barely hear because of the outdoor music pouring in. I tried to close windows and turn on air-conditioning - nothing worked except to join the party. Locals seems don't mind and they enjoy the night promenade and the night life as they come out with children and their elder to the center. It is buzzing with life, buzz and beats. If I had a break with rest at night I would give it wholeheartedly all 5 start, because all would have been perfect. I am sorry for lowering my stars to this otherwise beautiful property and town to stay in.

Stayed Nov 21, 2021We spent a fantastic week in Graziella's apartment above the main piazza in San Lucido. She and her husband greeted us with warm smiles and we also learned from our taxi driver that she had phoned ahead to be sure he would pick us up at the train station in Paola on a late Sunday night. Graziella was very responsive to all our needs. She provided breakfast food , juice , water and beautiful bowl of fresh fruit and some beverages. It was very much appreciated after our long journey. The apartment was everything we expected. It was also furnished with a sofa bed in the main room if you preferred to remain on the main level. It was located in a great part of town, fantastic views looking over the piazza when we opened our shutters in the morning. The grocery store is a stones throw away as is the fish store , the butcher, the pastry shops and our favorite place to get fresh bread and lunch snacks, Il Forno. The Chiabatta made with Grano Duro was the best bread we had ever tasted. The Lungo Mare, or promenade is accessed by a set of stairs in the square, again a stone's throw away and you could walk for miles listening to the waves breaking along the shore. Very few locals spoke English but they could understand what we were asking and there was also an option to throw in some French words as we were told all the kids take French going through school. We found the locals to be super friendly, very kind and generous. Thanks Graziella!
