Zen Cottage in Close In NE Alberta Arts Area, Sleeps 2 Private and Sanitized!!

This is a nice house without a TV. Only had an inoperable projector and screen. At first the manager acted like I was trying to set it up wrong. 1. I shouldn’t be expected to set it up. 2. She sounded irritated with me thinking I wasn’t following the directions properly. When the manager finally came to fix it, she was unable to get it working either. She left telling me she would get in touch with the owner and get back to me. Never heard from her again. We chose this property to spend a few days helping our young grandson deal with the grief of losing his daddy who is our son. We envisioned comfy fire with Christmas movies and talks of what the future looks like without his dad and honoring him. Instead I spent the entire first day chasing 3 different remote controls that was suppose to work different parts of this hideous so called home theater. No tv in any of the bedrooms either. My grandson was very board and our intended family grief retreat was completely a waste. We traveled from Texas to be with our grandson. A trip we can’t take often and may never be able to take again due to our health issues. BEWARE

This was one of our favorite stays ever! The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked, the space was cozy and comfortable—perfect for my husband and me. The location couldn’t be better: peaceful, beautifully situated for getting around Portland, and just a short stroll to the lovely nearby park. Lill is an exceptional host, and I’ll be hoping this place is available every time we come to Portland.

We loved our stay at Zen Cottage. We had everything we needed, the place was very neat and clean. We had great communication with the owner and it was in the perfect location for us. The neighborhood was very safe.

A very comfortable, well-appointed cottage in a safe and pretty neighborhood. The host, Lill, has made staying here a seamless experience, with many sweet touches, including a welcoming bottle of wine and flowers. I hope to return!

We add reserved a different VRBO for our stay, but that one cancelled us due to a water leak. Fortunately, we were able to book this one on short notice. We had stayed there before. It is a very nice place for a couple. Very clean and well stocked. The host is very responsive and accommodating.

We so enjoyed the cottage and the host! It is beautiful, spacious and peaceful, located close to restaurants and shops. We liked all that the cottage had to offer to make the stay comfortable, welcoming and convenient. So well equipped, if we hadn’t been visiting family, we might not have left!

We enjoyed another delightful stay at the Zen Cottage that has become our Go To place for visits to Portland. This haven in a peaceful and walkable neighborhood is so close to a beautiful park while giving easy access to restaurants and shopping. The host, Lil, anticipates guests' every need! Everything was as promised. Just about everything you would ever need for a stay was there, modern and comfortable. I might have sworn I was the first to stay there. Loved it!

This is just a great spot. This was our second stay there and we'll be back again next year. Lill is a fantastic host, very thoughtful and generous, even offering to share home-made treats, or figs from her tree. Getting around Portland is easy from this quiet, picturesque neighborhood. 5 stars!

This is a well-maintained and beautifully decorated cottage, very comfortable! Restaurants and grocery stores were a short drive away. We very much enjoyed walking in the nearby park. Our host was very gracious and helpful! We hope to stay again in the future!

The Zen Cottage was the tranquil oasis we needed after a taxing air travel to Portland during the global IT outage. We were delayed 24 hours but communication with host was easy and check-in was organized and efficient. The cottage is exactly as it is described and pictured: CLEAN, well appointed, and comfortable. The host has thought of everything you might need (or forget) while traveling. The bed and sofa bed were comfortable; the kitchen was organized and had anything you might need; and the bathroom was equally equipped with shampoos and shower gels and lots of towels. Did I mention clean? It is immaculate! The neighborhood was quiet and well situated to the areas we were visiting. We will return for sure. Thank you Zen Cottage for a wonderful stay!

We really enjoyed this space, it had everything you could need and then some. The neighborhood is the best one in Portland and you can walk to so many things. It is nice and quiet and clean. Would definitely stay here again and plan to next time we are in Portland.

We have quite a bit of experience staying at VRBO properties and this one ranks right near the top. Extremely clean, perfect size, well appointed, and just the right amount of communication with the property host. The bed was comfortable, the water pressure was great and the unit had everything you could need. We highly recommend this property.
