Stayed Mar 27, 2026The house was clean and bright and nicely decorated. The kids especially enjoyed the air hockey table downstairs in the basement and the hot tub outdoors. There are two outdoor seating areas--the deck upstairs, with a table and umbrella, and the patio downstairs with paved access to the hot tub, hanging lights, and a gas grill. The ambiance was cheerful and peaceful with nice views from the deck and patio of the Shenandoah River in the far distance and the low blue ridges of the mountains on either side. The host on the VRBO app was very friendly and responsive to questions. The only slight drawback was the long road out of the property, which has significant potholes, but backhoes were attempting to fill them in while we were there, so it may be a temporary issue. Also, make sure to wear shoes on the wooden back deck to avoid splinters. Property is easily accessible to Skyline drive--about 15 to 20 minutes to the Front Royal entrance station to Skyline drive, and less than 20 minutes from Skyline Caverns, both of which were fun and kid-friendly. Overall a relaxing and very fun visit and highly recommend.

Stayed Feb 13, 2026The VRBO was phenomenal! We loved the area and had a spectacular time at Shenandoah National Park. Staying right off the river was beautiful and we had an absolute blast! The only downfall is you definitely need an off-road, all-terrain vehicle because the road the VRBO is off of is covered in many potholes and are not meant to be battled with a small vehicle.Overall, we had a great time and are excited to come back!
