This cozy cottage was perfect for my family of 4. The location was ideal for easy access to everything we wanted to do from different waterfalls to shopping to watching the sunset at Brow park. This place was exactly what we needed to relax & reset in nature.

The house sits on a quite lane. The back deck is peaceful and serene. It's a short walk to river access. It was a very enjoyable stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas holiday stay at this clean, comfortable cottage. Loved the Christmas tree and holiday decor. Susan, our host, was quick to respond when I reported a power outage. Beds were a bit too firm for our bad backs. Had everything we needed, although a new set of pots and pans would be an improvement. Neighborhood was safe, quiet, walkable and convenient to everything.

Our stay was wonderful. The cabin was clean and impeccably decorated, with everything we needed. The furniture and bedding were comfortable. We reserved in March but didn’t come until October so there was one change. The living room daybed had been swapped out to a futon/couch, suitable for sleeping. (It was not an issue at all.) The kitchen was well stocked, with up-to-date appliances, and a pull-out spice cabinet. The yard was large and well kept, with a wooded area to one side. The neighborhood was safe and lovely.We’ve already talked about returning and we will stay here for sure.Communication was open and quick with the rental agent. A great stay for a great price!

LOVED THE FIREPLACE FIREPIT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND NEED MORE KITCHEN STORAGE CONTAINERS NEW PILLOWS WOULD BE NICE WE WENT AND BOUGHT SOME ALSO THE BEDS WERE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE BUT I LIKE A SOFT BED SO THAT COULD HAVE JUST BEEN ME HOUSE WAS BEAUTIFUL AND JUST LIKE THE PHOTOS.WOULD OF BEEN NICE TO FISH BUT THE WATER WAS ONLY ABOUT A FOOT DEEP BUT NO ONE CAN CONTROL THAT ALSO YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT MOST OF THE SHOPS ARE CLOSED MONDAY THR WED AS WELL AS A LOT OF THE LOCAL RESTURANTS BUT ALL IN ALL CLOSE TO OTHER THINGS AND ALOT OF THINGS TO DO BROW PARK WAS AMAZING FOR SUNSETS AND THE WEATHER WAS PERFECT

If you are looking for a place to stay in Mentone proper, you definitely should give this one a look. Great location, nice size, lovely outdoor spaces.

Sunshine Cottage was clean and welcoming as well as perfectly located for us for our stay. I not only would highly recommend it, if we come back next year to see my brother, that's where we want to stay again!!

This was a very nice get away. Very quiet and comfortable. The only downside was the WIFI quit working and we didn’t have any TV or anything.

Property was perfect - exactly as described. Loved the back porch and the privacy. Will definitely go back!

This was such a pleasant stay! The property manager, Susan, amde everything so easy. The cottage was comfortable and well appointed. One member of our group was concerned about a few stained items, but to me that was pretty minor. Quite a peaceful stay!

We loved sunshine cottage! It was a cute cozy cottage, the beds were great the bathrooms were super clean and we loved the fireplace! We really appreciated the free firewood a lot of places charge and we really appreciated that! We will be back.

Susan's cottage was spotless and cozy for our 2 night stay. and she was fast at responding to messages. We happened to be in Mentone during some really cold weather so unfortunately didn't get to enjoy the outdoor amenities afforded at this place. The cottage is just a turn away from the main drag of Mentone with many restaurants and was easy to find. I'd recommend that you screenshot your check-in info prior to your arrival, as some cell reception can be spotty there and our Vrbo app had a hard time pulling info up while I was standing at the front door! (don't be like me!) Thank you for the cozy stay, Susan!

Great cottage. Enjoyed sitting in front of the fire. Very quiet and peaceful. Clean, comfortable and well stocked.

The cottage is so cozy and a great layout with 2 bedrooms and en suite bathrooms. We enjoyed the open concept for our weekend. We cooked breakfast and dinner and the kitchen had all the pans/utensils we needed. The fireplace made for a great night sitting by the fire and watching TV. The only nit picky things that would have made it even better would be a true sofa instead of the futon style one with no arms and an end table. Also, the pillows were very flat so I'll remember to bring my own next time. If you're going to use the grill ask if they provide charcoal and lighter fluid (I don't think it's a propane grill) before you arrive so you can stop and get what you need. The location is fantastic. I've stayed further out in a more 'remote' location and the drive into town was a chore, but this location on a dead end, quiet road was perfect! We could pop up to the Mentone Market if we needed anything and it's close to 'town' and nature trails we wanted to explore. I will definitely return and when it's not so cold enjoy the big back deck!

Loved this cozy cabin. Perfect for me and my daughter vacation. And I loved the fact that it was pet friendly, I was able to bring my fur babies with me on this vacation. It was very convenient for the downtown area so I was able to get everything I needed.

My husband and I traveled with our small dog north to visit two of our children. We used this cottage as a stopping point so we could gather. I had no knowledge of the area and found it was a camping area. That was perfect! It was so quiet. The cottage is not fancy and that was exactly what we needed. It was very well maintained and had a huge yard. It had everything we needed to make meals and used the local market to buy everything we needed. Added bonus is that it had a small Christmas tree. Host was great with communication. Rules were brief and straightforward. Hope to use this cute cottage for future stays!!

We enjoyed our time at the cottage. The cottage has everything you need for a stay. Just be prepared to live out of suitcase because of no dresser with drawers.

Enjoyed staying in this cozy cottage while visiting family in Mentone. Everything we needed and more. Upon checkin we were greeted by white tailed deer.

we had absolutely a wonderful time. The cabin is more than we ever expected. The pictures online. Do not do it justice very pleased. The town of Mentone is adorable with shops and restaurants. plenty of things to do made a trip to DeSoto State Park and to Fort Payne to shop

This was a great cottage for a family with young children. The location was great to get to Desoto park and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. The kids were able to play outside while we grilled. It was a nice area. We would definitely recommend.

This cottage is adorable and comfortable. It’s roomy for its size. Great for four adults and two small children. We had a lovely and memorable time. We’ll want to come back 😁

We loved the location of the Sunshine Cottage! The place was so nice on a large lot that was perfect for our little yorkie to enjoy. The only complaint we had was the firmness of the beds and the seating in the living area but again that's being picky!

This property is amazing! It was very clean and extremely well appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. The only disappointment was there was no view of the valley or mountains, however, the backyard/woods are peaceful and beautiful

Our stay in Sunshine Cottage was just what the Dr ordered. While not too far from home in Huntsville, it was peaceful, relaxing, and a break from our day-to-day life. The house was well appointed with all the necessities, clean, well kept, and I just loved the back porch. Although we didn't need the second bedroom for just my husband and I, we both commented on how nice it was for both bedrooms to have adjoining bathrooms. It rained quiet a bit while we were there so we didn't explore/walk or get to enjoy to small dock area as much as we would have liked, but that is the luck of the draw when planning a trip. We would definitely recommend and stay in Sunshine Cottage again.
