Stayed in the middle of a Winter Storm for a family event in Shipshewana. Was a great stay overall. Fairly remote location but easy to find. Wonderful view of the Lake. Great inside touches. Normal travel to Shipshewana is likely less than 10 minutes but due to winter conditions for us was about 30 minutes. Seating is a bit uncomfortable in LR and not adequate for a family considering this is a 3BR. But not a real issue. During summer this would be a great location with all the outside amenities. Our grandsons had a ball doing snow sculpture outside.
The house was very clean, cozy and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, great night sleep. The house is fully stocked and everything was in great shape. They even had extra touches to make our stay fantastic. This was a great surprise. Lastly, what a great surprise to have the house decorated for Christmas. We would stay again.
This home is very comfortable and it was extremely nice to find the extras that were provided.
We stayed in this lovely lake house near the town of Shipshewana, Indiana. It was accurately described in the listing. The house has plenty of amenities including well-stocked kitchen, bathroom, and towels for enjoying the hot tub, or, if you're there during warm weather, the lake. The bedrooms were nice and cozy. The master bathroom was beautifully outfitted with an extra large shower and a separate soaking tub. The 2nd bathroom was a bit of a hike to the other side of the house but it was also outfitted with a nice size shower. We loved the culture, shopping, and restaurants in Shipshewana and nearby Middlebury. We learned so much about the Amish, Mennonite, and Hutterite communities. The only issue we encountered at the house was when we used the gas fireplace and set off the smoke detectors. I notified Kelly and she responded within a short time. She made us aware the flue would sometimes shut on it's own and set the alarms. We chose not to use the fireplace the rest of the stay. It did not impact our stay. I highly recommend this rental. The location, view of the lake, the beautiful swans and other local wildlife, as well as the comfortable home made our short trip a huge hit. I hope to be able to come back soon.
Home was very centrally located for visiting Amish. REALLY enjoyed the hot tub and neighbors.
The cottage was absolutely adorable! Perfect for our girls trip. We had everything we needed and more.
Very impressed, the house was very neat and unique. It was clean and well furnished. I would definitely stay again.
Great place we will be back
House was something out of a magazine. Beautiful! But, the water in the hot tub was not hot at all, very cold. Rented many homes with hot tubs and the water was hot on all of them when we arrived. Very dark on the deck and around the hot tub. Very inadequate lighting. And in the awesome main shower, the light didn’t work, witch wasn’t a problem.
This was a perfect home to spend Christmas with my kids. It was decorated for Christmas on top of the adorable lake decor. The hot tub and fireplace were amazing. The beds were so comfortable. I hope to return in the summer to appreciate this awesome lake house even more.
Great vacation getaway spot. The house was very clean and everything up to date!
What a generously stocked, beautifully decorated, and really relaxing lakefront property! The 3 of us all had lots of space and very comfortable rooms. The showers are huge. The kitchen had every gadget you could possibly need. The outside areas are beyond expectations with a regular firepit, and a gas powered firepit table. The pergola covered deck has a great area for outdoor dining. The white swan swimming and feeding on the lake was idyllic. The beautiful landscape was an added benefit for the drive time to and from the flea market and auction. Highly recommend this property.
We truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful lake house. The house sits on a small prominence on the water giving you the feeling that you are surrounded by water. When sitting on the couch it appears that ducks, geese and swans are literally swimming right outside your window. The host stocked it nicely with some treats and coffee allowing us to relax after our trip instead of rushing right out to a store. Wonderful and thoughtful hospitality. We will definitely be returning for another stay here.
