Shipshewana, Indiana
Enjoy your stay at this unique farmhouse built in 1911. Enjoy the large back yard with a campfire or sit on the front porch and watch the buggy’s drive by. This house sits beside the Brown Swiss dairy round barn that was built in 1908 and is now a historical landmark.
This house is also close to the Pumpkin Vine Bike trail. It is within a mile of Shipshewana and a lot of unique shops. Also only 2 miles to the MEC.
Guest access
You will have access to the house but we ask that you stay out of all other buildings on the property. Thank you.
We had an amazing experience. It was perfect for us together on and off during the tractor pulles and be able to relax and enjoy time together. We will for sure be booking again next year. Thank you
We had a great time staying at your place. So convenient to shopping and dinner. Beautiful home! Loved how it was decorated and all the amenities! We want to stay again next year!
All six of us had a place at the table and 5:6 had a recliner seat in the living room that made it very comfortable. We each had our own bed except 2 shared a king size so the sleeping area was also roomy. Enjoyed the old cubby holes with doors and the dumbwaiter; loving the old house frame with modern luxuries(appliances, new carpet, etc)
My nursing friends and I have been visiting Shipshewana for me any years. This was our first time staying in a home. This home was so welcoming and so much more than the pictures show! Such a unique cement architecture! The owner was very respons6when I messaged him with questions. We all remarked how much more enjoyable it was to be in the home than in a hotel! We are in the process of booking this home for our visit next year! We hope to enjoy the fire pit the next time.
Very nice, clean, good location.everything we needed for a short 2 night stay.
This is a very comfy house with an outstanding screened in front porch that is ideal for watching the many buggies that pass by. It’s in a very convenient location, too. Kyle c was very responsive to our questions. We hope to return.
Lovely home with many historic and timeless features. Perfect for several couples with large spacious bedrooms. Great location with shops, restaurants, walking trails, and entertainment nearby!
This house was better than the pictures. It is absolutely beautiful and relaxing. The beds are comfortable, and the front porch is perfect for the summer weather. The host Kyle was great with communication. We will definitely be booking this house again when we come down for more Shipshewana Auctions!!
We stayed here for a wedding in Topeka. Great location; just a few minutes into Shipshewana and less than 15 to Lakeside Occasions where the wedding was held. House and property we even better than expected. Beyond peaceful. Host was very responsive to messages. Would definitely stay here again!
Great home with comfortable furniture and wonderful location. There was a downstairs bed and bath that accommodated our more senior family members. They were able to navigate the exterior steps with assistance but there were not any handrails for exterior steps or the stairs going upstairs which is something to consider if you are needing a more assessible place to stay. We would certainly stay here again, it was wonderful!
We enjoyed staying at this unique old house on our trip to a friend's wedding. The dumbwaiter and the barn held a special attraction for some in our family. The children enjoyed the toys, a yard in which to run, and a patio where they could jump rope. The countryside surrounding Shipshewana is filled with lovely, well-manicured Amish farms, homes, and gardens. Kyle was also accomodating when we had to leave early for a funeral.
We went for a girls' trip, close to shopping yet in the country. Clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for all. Enjoyed the home away from home.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
We had family from 5 states together to celebrate a birthday and Thanksgiving. The kitchen worked well to prepare many of our meals for the weekend. It was a great place to gather and we really enjoyed the house and being back in Shipshewana. Kyle is a great host.
We were just here for a stopover heading home from visiting family in Iowa over Thanksgiving. We checked in late because of travel but everything was clean cozy and ready for us. Even had a pak n play set up. A unique remodeled farmhouse with lots of old features still there like a dumb waiter. Wished we could have stayed longer. The one thing that might have improved the experience a bit was having a light on somewhere either a pole light outside or a nightlight inside to see where we were going as it was dark when we arrived. Maybe having some nightlight inside would have been great. But we still enjoyed our experience!
Great unique farm home! Enjoyed it very much. Very close to town and nice to be all together.
Just a one night stay, but everything was great! House is about a 2 minute drive to the Blue Gate.
Beautiful farmhouse in Amish country.
We were very pleased with this stay. The property was beautiful, we furnished with everything we needed. This is a beautiful location very close to all the activities at Shipshewana. We would like to have had wi-fi and internet. It was not available. Otherwise it was great!
Six senior citizens all siblings. Loved the house and location.
From the concrete constructed buildings to sitting on the front porch and hearing the buggies go by, This place is great! Plenty of room for or group of 9 adults
Family and friends gathered in Shipshewania for an award ceremony for a deceased friend, brother, and husband. Ten of us stayed , and it was roomy, comfortable, and clean.
Had an excellent time - property was amazing, clean and comfy.
Keurig coffee + porch swing + watching buggies. Very relaxing. Like stepping back in time. You don't need to bring anything. This is the poster house for the word quaint.
The house was beautiful. The pictures online do not do it justice. We were able to walk into town and we weren't far from some really nice Canoeing. We absolutely loved sitting on the porch for some fresh air and seeing all of the buggies go by. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. It was perfect!
The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable. I felt like we were stepping back in time to a more wholesome era. It is conveniently located to Shipshewanna and Middlebury. It was fun watching the buggys go by on the main road. There is no internet, but that actually added to our pleasant and restful experience.
Lovely property. Location was close to the area we wanted to visit and the property was cozy and comfortable. Our stay included 3 adult couples. We travel together each year to a different location and all couples enjoyed the property.
