Woodstock, New York
Brook Cottage Too is ideally located on a shared and secluded property at the end of a private lane, yet it’s just a few blocks from the center of Woodstock and the NYC bus (no car needed!). You can walk to Woodstock’s local attractions (including parks and hiking trails) ~ or you can just stay home and relax in your own private oasis of peace and beauty. The cottage is immaculately clean and available for longer-term rentals, as well as short-term stays.
Brook Cottage Too occupies the west wing of an authentic 1928 artist’s residence/studio, featuring oversize north-light windows (with views of Overlook Mountain, the highest peak in the region) and south-facing skylights with forest and brook views.
Enter your private fenced patio through a double-door latched gate. Old native bluestone paves the curved walkway and outdoor dining area (framed by gardens of evergreen and flowering shrubs), while smooth river stones surround the gas-fueled fire pit. You can prepare meals using your new Weber gas grill and dine al fresco on the outdoor table shaded by a canopy of trees. At night, light the gas-fueled fire pit and snuggle by a fire under the stars.
Step from the patio through a covered doorway into your spacious and light-filled open plan “great room", which features a brand new fully-equipped country kitchen (with a Caesarstone quartz countertop, a quiet Miele dishwasher and new stainless appliances) that overlooks the living room (with an L-shaped slipcovered sofa, oversize north-light windows, a wall-mounted flat-screen “smart TV", and a cozy gas-fueled fire stove), and opens to a windowed dining area overlooking the patio gardens.
A skylit hallway leads to a spa-like bathroom with a Caesarstone counter and porcelain tub with a rain shower ~ under a cathedral ceiling with a large skylight! The skylight bathes the room with sun/moonlight, while you bathe under the treetops and clouds!
At the end of the hallway, climb quiet carpeted stairs to the full 2nd floor bedroom, which features a king bed (with a high-end mattress and luxurious 100% organic cotton fair-trade linens) under a large north-light window with mountain views (and black-out shades), a comfortable sitting area, a large remote-controlled skylight (also with black-out shades), a romantic electric fire stove, wide board wood floors with a hand-loomed artisan area rug, and a quiet remote-controlled AC.
Brook Cottage Too was architect-designed and has been lovingly renovated and beautifully decorated by the designer-owner and a master craftsman with great care and attention to detail, as evidenced by the hand-plastered walls with softly rounded corners; natural woodwork refinished to a silky sheen; brand new wood and porcelain floors; state-of-the-art systems and appliances (including highly efficient and quiet ACs, dishwasher, and washer/dryer); all new matching sets of dishware, bakeware, pots and pans, cutlery and utensils; 100% organic cotton fair-trade luxury bed linens and plush bath towels, etc. In other words, Brook Cottage Too shares and upholds the same high standards of design, quality, comfort and luxury as Brook Cottage (property #950862), the much-loved and highly popular 5-star rated vacation rental that shares the driveway and parking areas.
Although Brook Cottage and Brook Cottage Too are totally separate and independent semi-detached rentals (with entrances and private patios on different sides of the building), which are each ideally suited for romantic getaways and personal retreats, they may also be rented together by groups of friends or extended family members who want to be together while still maintaining their own private spaces.
NO CAR NECESSARY
Brook Cottage Too is easy walking distance (just 5-10 minutes) to everything the village of Woodstock has to offer: popular restaurants/cafes, galleries, boutiques and specialty shops, live music and theater performances, hiking trails, bike rentals, etc. In other words, you don't need a car! Instead, you can take the Adirondack Trailways bus from NYC or NJ to the Woodstock village green, and walk just 5 minutes to Brook Cottage Too, your luxury Woodstock getaway at the edge of the village!
MUSIC
Live Woodstock music can sometimes be heard at the cottage in the evening (7 - 10 pm) coming from the outside patio of the local favorite Station Bar & Curio, which serves craft beers, cocktails, and light meals in a small one-of-a-kind historic former train depot located about a block away.
PETS
Well-behaved, house-broken and crate-trained dogs are considered ~ please ask. Please note that dogs must be crated when left alone in the cottage, and leashed when outdoors. A $75/week pet fee per dog applies..

Short-Term Rental Operating Permit #21N-124
The only complaint I had was that the bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. I stayed for almost two weeks and it is not convenient for dressing and for middle of the night bathroom trips. This is a duplex and for part of my stay I had very noisy neighbors.
My dog and I had a great stay in this cottage right in the heart of Woodstock. It’s beautifully appointed and the cleanest cottage we’ve ever stayed in. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again!
It rained during most of our stay, so thank goodness the property was so comfortable and cozy. Lovely clean accommodations. Short walking distance to all the best that downtown Woodstock has to offer. Short driving distance to some incredible nature hiking. When the rain subsided, we enjoyed relaxing on the private patio with our coffee and books by the gas fire pit. We definitely recomment and will for sure book again. Property manager/owner responded promptly and cordially in all communication and was very helpful.
Brook Cottage Too feels like our home away from home in Woodstock. We’ve been returning regularly for the past few years, sometimes for a long weekend, sometimes a week, and we always hate to leave. The cottage is really perfect for two people, with a lovely setting - a babbling brook out back, a lovely private little patio with a gas fire pit and grill, and a tree-lined yard with a view towards Overlook Mountain. It’s a quick stroll into the heart of the village, with easy access to everything the Woodstock area has to offer. Judy and Chelsea make everything easy, and we always feel welcome. We hope to keep returning as often as we can!
The place was so peaceful yet we could easily walk downtown. Everything was impeccably clean and organized. We loved it!
My partner and I live in nyc so we were looking for a city escape and we found that in this space! There’s so much light. We had all the windows open and had clean fresh air flowing through the place. We rarely heard our neighbors - only sometimes when they exited via their own door entrance. The location is perfect. You walk out and you’re in the village and close walks to all the restaurants, cafes and shoppes. The grocery store is a bit further away but totally doable by foot! Hikes were all within quick driving distances. We had 1 issue with the internet and the host was able to communicate with me instantly to remedy the problem. There’s a cute bar just on the other side of the property - they do live music into the night which was nice to hear but also loud enough to sound like you’re in nyc. We turned on a noise machine and slept wonderfully on the bed! The little private courtyard with the firepit and grill was a perfect area to sit back and read for hours. We will be back!!
Fantastic little house, very clean and well equipped. The comfy king size bed is upstairs… but the bathroom is downstairs. For me, that would be a rent-again dealbreaker. If that wouldn’t bother you, don’t hesitate to rent this gem and it’s very helpful property manager.
Well-maintained and designed.. easy walking into town and to the nearby park and next to a pleasant creek. Although relatively close to the road, there is no road noise to speak of, only music from the nearby restaurant. Pleasant stay, and would definitely return
This cottage was small but mighty - well-appointed and well laid out so it makes the most of the space. The only disappointment was realizing it doesn’t have access to the backyard/stream - you can see it, but the space is for use by the larger half of the cottage.
Couldn’t ask for a better location and the unit itself is so cozy, clean, and beautiful. Definitely want to come back!
This was one of our best experiences with short-term rentals yet. The cottage is everything you see in the pics and listing, just beautiful, comfortable, clean and well done. Incredibly convenient to town. Very responsive host- we would recommend highly and plan to return ourselves.
My husband and our pup Toby had a wonderful stay at Brook Cottage Too. The property is immaculate and in a great location! The property manager was extremely responsive and helpful. We will be back later this year for sure!
Very clean, nice location.
We always love coming back to Brook Cottage Too. For us, it's just the right amount of space, and feels so welcoming and cozy. We especially love the beautiful king sized bed, the bathroom (heated floor!), the private patio, and the location – very convenient to everything in Woodstock. We always feel so well taken care of, and look forward to returning every time.
Such an adorable town. The second half of this cabin is perfect for a couple. It is within two blocks of the main downtown area with little shops and restaurants. Would for sure stay again!
This property is impeccably detailed with everything you need and more. Every room is suited for a discerning traveler. I found the bed and sheets to be of a very high quality and very comfortable. One draw back for those wishing to retire early is the live entertainment and outdoor restaurant next door. Luckily they stop playing around 10 to 11pm. The three bear cubs and huge mamma bear that greeted me my first morning was an exciting one off event. I would stay here again and recommend it to those staying in Wookstock.
Nicely updated. Semi-private and lovely setting. I’d stay there again -
My husband and I stayed here for our one year wedding anniversary. The location in proximity to down town Woodstock is amazing. We woke up each morning and walked a few minutes into town to explore the different coffee shops and bakeries. The property was very well kept, and obviously renovated with a lot of care. Thoughtful amenities such as a wood tray above the fridge to carry out items to the grill, and dark towels for the dog paws. They even had Tupperware. Really well appointed all around. Even though this is one unit in a two unit building, it felt really private. We had our own yard, grill, and fire pit enclosed in a privacy fence. We had a little bit of a blip with the WiFi, and the property manager responded instantly (and even texted me to make sure I got her message) to address jt. It was fixed in just a few minutes. This is a great place to stay. The property, the location, the property manager, it all exceeded expectations. We can’t wait to rent the whole property and bring some friends with us. Highly recommend.
Very enjoyable.
The property was clean and welcoming with everything we needed. Short walk in to town for restaurants and shops. Would definitely come back!
A perfect size for a couple. Clean and located conveniently to all shops and restaurants in town.
My husband and I recently spent a long weekend at this lovely property. This was our first visit to Woodstock and we were there to celebrate his birthday. Brook Cottage Two has been meticulously designed and decorated as well as immaculate. Communication with Chelsea was easy and thorough. She responded to my many questions completely and in a timely manner. Highly recommend!
This was our first experience using VRBO and it definitely won’t be the last. Cottage Too was very homely and a perfect location for us to explore from.
