A cozy cottage in the heart of The Willamette Valley. Walk to restaurants and tasting rooms and then relax on your own front porch or barbecue on your private back deck. The cottage has two bedrooms, both with Christopher Knight (tm) aloe vera infused queen-sized beds for a great night's sleep. The fully outfitted kitchen is ready to make an entire Thanksgiving dinner, and the clawfoot tub in the bathroom comes complete with bath products to pamper yourself.

Although we’re walkable to many attractions, our street is tranquil and you'll enjoy sitting in a porch rocker with a glass of wine (in our varietal-correct Riedel glasses), or relaxing in the backyard hammock or lounging furniture. (You may rent it as a one-bedroom or a two-bedroom and pricing is commensurate and based on the number of guests and the number of bedrooms used). If renting as a one-bedroom the second room will remain vacant and locked during your stay).

About The Valley Wine Cottage

A historic cottage built in 1920 with period-correct furnishings but with all of the comforts of a modern home, such as screaming fast WiFi and central heat and air. The home is furnished with antiques to make you feel like you've stepped back in time.

Amenities:

The Valley Wine Cottage comes fully stocked with everything you will need for your stay - from half and half and a selection of coffee and tea for your morning repast (perhaps on the front porch rockers ) to varietal-correct Riedel glassware for wine lovers, to toiletries (including bath salts for the restored vintage tub).

Each bedroom comes equipped with two fluffy robes and slippers, a hair dryer, space for hanging clothes, shelves and a luggage rack. Each bedroom is light and bright with two windows (but with blackout curtains so you can sleep in - as you should on your vacation!). Each bedroom also has an electric alarm clock with charging ports.

We provide luxury toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shaving cream and razers, body lotion, bath salts, contact solution, blow dryers and flat irons, an iron and ironing board and much more.

We also have a flat-screen Smart TV programmed with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Showtime, HBO-Max, Starz, Showtime, Apple+, Disney+ and with Internet access for live streaming (all free to you).

What guests can access:

You will have the entire home to yourself - including outdoor spaces (porch with rockers, seating area with adirondack chairs and full deck with outdoor dining and lounging furniture and a hammock. Bocce Ball court in the backyard. Full laundry room with washer and dryer and laundry supplies.)

We want you to feel like you're in your own little wine country cottage, so we will not be present during your stay, but are just a phone call or text away or can be there in 5 minutes if you need us. We have a very comprehensive guest book full of recommendations and locals hacks that we will email you in advance to plan your trip.

Other Info:

We are also the owners of Valley Wine Merchants, the most comprehensive wine shop in the Willamette Valley, which is just 6 blocks away from the cottage. Part of our hospitality is to offer your own personal wine country concierge to recommend wineries and tasting rooms to visit based on your palate. Feel free to contact Andrew at www.valleywinemerchants.com for recommendations ahead of your trip!

For more photos and info about the cottage visit www.valleywinecottage.com.

The neighborhood:

Newberg is the very heart of Oregon Wine Country. There are over 300 world-class wineries within a 20 minute drive to our house and 10 tasting rooms within walking distance of our cottage. We are also just blocks away from the Hoover-Minthorn House Museum - the childhood home of President Herbert Hoover. You can take a short stroll to the historic Cameo Theater, which shows first-run movies in a historic gilded theater. Newberg is also home to one of the last remaining drive-in movie theaters on the West Coast. If visiting your college student at Nearby George Fox University you can walk or take a two-minute drive. We are blocks away from world-class dining (including The Painted Lady, which is voted Oregon's best restaurant), antique stores and coffee shops.

How to get around:

You can walk to tasting rooms, restaurants, antique shops and historical sites. It's a short drive to Wineries and World-class dining. You can walk or take a 2 minute drive to George Fox University. Uber usually takes 5 minutes to arrive.

Fully appointed kitchen, laundry and outdoor spaces make this the ideal place to call home for a long weekend or extended trip. The home was fully renovated in 2017 to include brand new central heat and air conditioning, a new water heater (for luxurious baths in the restored clawfoot tub) and new electrical wiring and plumbing. You'll only feel like you've stepped back in time.

The home is appropriate for long stays (visiting winemakers or traveling distributors ) or for business travelers with a designated desk area stocked with office supplies, and screaming-fast Fios Wi-Fi.

This cottage is immaculately cared for. The beds were very comfortable. There are great food trucks and a Stoller tasting room with food that are walking distance from the home. We visited Andrew's Valley Wine Merchants store twice and he helped us pick out some good wines and provided recommendations for wineries to visit. It was a great couple of days!

We were very pleased with the cottage and our stay. Michelle was very communicative throughout the process and the cottage was well-stocked with commonly needed items (we appreciated the stain remover on this trip, not something you'd find at every property!). The main stretch of Newberg is very walkable from this property and we enjoyed its proximity to many of the local wineries/vineyards during this trip.

The owners have thought of everything! They renovated this charming house keeping original character but adding modern touches such as the old-looking clock that is actually a Bluetooth speaker! We received excellent recommendations on wine and places to dine. Highly recommend for anyone looking to spend some time in wine country. Easy access to the coast and other must see sights in Oregon.

We enjoyed our stay in this beautifully renovated and furnished cottage. As an avid cook, I especially appreciated the abundant supply of herbs and spices, seasonings, coffee and coffee equipment, and particularly the recommendation to shop for fish at a wonderful local fish market. The updated 1920s stove was great fun to cook on. Michelle and Andrew seem to have anticipated every need.

Lovely cottage as advertised and pictures were accurate which isn’t always the case. They did think of everything and more. Sitting on back deck very relaxing. Convenient location. Hopefully will return again.
