The Hive - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

We stayed here in the summer. Such a great location we came back in winter. While upstairs was warm the underfloor heating downstairs did not work effectively despite the best efforts of the agent. It was very cold outside during our stay and it only warmed up inside when the sun shone through the windows. Two criticisms: the seating in the living area is not comfortable and no effort has been made to make the area feel cosy. Few ornaments and no pictures make the large room feel rather stark. The folding doors do not fit properly and added to the problem of keeping the large living room warm. We also found the back door impossible to open at times and ended up using only the front door. We hope the owners find a buyer soon. Despite our criticisms we enjoyed our stay because of the wonderful location.

We have had a very pleasant, comfortable stay in the Hive (for our second visit this year). The living space and kitchen are a good size and well equipped; the beds are very comfortable. Parking behind the property can be a little challenging with a big vehicle. It's also in a good location in the centre of Emsworth whilst still being pretty quiet.

A lovely place to stay and so near the sea. Our only disappointment was the lack of a microwave but otherwise it was just as advertised .

A perfect location. Spacious accommodation. Unusual for a holiday let to have no information pack or any manuals for using appliances. A small niggle: the kettle either needs descaling or replacing. Water just dribbles out!

This property could not be better placed in Emsworth, very close to the village centre with some nice shops, pubs and a couple of higher end restaurants if pub food is not to your choosing. Despite being so close to the village centre it was very quiet at night and we slept very well in the enormous beds. Our dog loved staying in this property and there is a good dog walk within a few steps of the cottage. The only minor quibbles are that there was no can opener and there was no toilet paper to be found on arrival (surely an oversight!) but as I say plenty of shops so not beyond the wit of man to solve that problem.

Had a wonderful stay at the Hive which is located in central Emsworth. The location is 30 seconds from the town centre and access to the property was a breeze. Property is clearly recently refurbished and bathrooms are very nice and modern, as is the kitchen. Plenty of linen and beds were very comfortable. There were no major issues but the house wasn’t super clean and there were a couple of issues which would be good to know for future guests - no toilet roll was provided on arrival, just empty cardboard rolls, would be good if this was supplied as we arrived at 10pm at night and then had to go hunting for a supermarket. Secondly, a number of the items in the kitchen were dirty so had to wash up a number of items before use, this I can live with but a little frustrating when you arrive and lastly there is a lot of out of date items in the fridge and cupboards e.g olive oil was out of date by 6 months. All these elements together give me an impression the cleaners aren’t focusing on the details.

Lovely few days staying at the hive. Beautiful house, all decked out beautifully and to a high quality. Location great! Wonderful service from the agents who quickly rectified an issue with the beds. We’ll definitely be back again!
