The Barnacle is nestled in tall pine trees just 30 feet from the beach. It sits up on a high cliff making it very protected and VERY private. It is so close to the water that you will love to sit on the huge deck and eavesdrop on the lobstermen negotiating price. Just a few minutes walk up the road is a sweet country store that offers organic veggies from local growers, homemade cheeses, gifts an a huge variety of wines. Quaint Bucks Harbor Yacht Club is also within walking distance.

Stayed Jun 18, 2025We ended up having a family reunion with friends and family members joining us for meals and visits. There was plenty of room for everyone to sit and enjoy the amazing scenery. The only downsides were that the only bathroom was downstairs, which was a little tough for my 90 year-old dad, and when the heatwave hit, some of the upstairs rooms’ windows didn’t function very well. So it was pretty hot up there. Most everyone had gone home by then, and the living room stayed fine. The couch was comfy and there were lots of fans.So if you look at it as going “up ta camp” everyone agrees that it was just about perfect.
